Nice lamp if you don't put a light bulb in it. The top of the bulb is way above the top of the shade with a standard bulb in it. I have looked but not found a bulb that is short enough to be usable. The bulb is positioned in the top third of the shade. I was disappointed that this information was not in the specifications. I guess I will just use it with out the bulb, it is a nice looking lamp, just not lit.

I bought this when amazon had it on sale. single digits price. bought 2 of them shipped. The lamp shade as others have said will leave the bulb showing. So it looks horrible. But I cut up and added extension to the lamp shade metal frame. Now the shade is much higher and the bulb shines inside the shade. Not directly visible on top. Now it looks great.

The top of this shade is not covered, creating somewhat a little bit too shining for bedroom. But this lamp is fair enough for its' price.

The lamp shade is a straight-sided, frosted-glass shade meant to be used on a standard lamp (hanging instead of standing upside down as the safety sticker inside indicates). In the product photo, the shade has a clear curve to it, to continue the curve of the wooden body of the lamp. That's the first departure from what's advertised here.

Second, in the product photo, the base appears to be turned from a single piece of dark-stained walnut, based on the continous grain. The actual lamp has at least six joined peices of wood, with at least three visible from any angle, and I'm fairly certain it's veneer given the overall weight.

The socket was off-center, and the retention ring provided to hold the shade in place is cheap plastic. The shade itself just sits on top of the lamp with no groove or lip to hold it in place. The retention ring is screwed down around outside of the socket, and clamps the shade in place. Since the socket is off center, the shade doesn't want to sit centered on top of the lamp.

That said, it looks OK sitting on my desk in my office, under a set of shelves attached to the wall. Just don't look too closely.

I think I could have bought the shade for $5-7, and the base (or something similar) for $15-20 if I just looked around. I'm completely at a loss to explain why this lamp sells for $100 (or more).

We have two of these lamps in addition to a floor lamp of the same design. These are beautiful products with solid wood finishes and real glass shades. Purchased desk lamp in May 2012. I has worked really well with no issues. Glass shade illuminates the room really well. Highly recommended.

The idea of this night light is great. It lightly glows orange, and can also be taken off it's base, making it portable and glowing a bright LED light. The LED light is very bright, which makes for easy maneuvering around the house at night. However, when the penguin is on it's base with the orange light, it doesn't seem to provide enough light to my kids' room at night. It's a good idea, but just not bright enough when on its base.

My daughter loves it and I like the amber colour, it doesn't disturb her sleep like some of the brighter ones do. Don't let your child carry it around as a flash light, my daughter dropped it once and only the amber night light works now!

My kids love these night lights and have used them for years, literally. I have bought probably 20 of them over the years from different places and was happy to find them on Amazon finally (it was getting difficult to find them locally, and the kids really do love them). They charge them during the day, then take them off the stands at night and can sleep with them in their beds, like a friendly little light-up pet. You should know that no matter how many of these we've had none of them has ever lasted 8 hours like they claimusually about 3-4but that's long enough for the kids to get to sleep comfortably.

HOWEVERbe aware that you should open the package straight away and test it out as soon as you receive this product. I have never had this problem before, but 2 of the nightlights I bought from Amazon simply don't light up (and as I said, I have bought them for over 5 years now from different sources). I usually buy a few, put them in a drawer, and wait until the natural life span of the light just wears outwhich honestly has been anywhere from a few months to over a year. It really seems to vary with the individual lights. But NEVER have I had one not work at all; not until I purchased from Amazon, and since I didn't test them out immediately, my "return window" has expired and I'm out $20. I feel like I've been burned on this one!

The bulbs are bright, the light is good and not irritable, but as soon as I plug them in, they hum. It is a very low barely noticeable hum, but I can hear it and don't like it. I use another brand CFL which are absolutely noiseless and I love them but they are just a little more expensive. Back to them..

First we have to say that the Bulborama service was amazing they did everything they could to assist us with our issues. Unfortunately using the bulbs in numerous fixtures, and trying new bulbs sent to us, they continued flickering. The flickering does stop when you turn the unit off, and then on again but starts again after about an hour. The light is bright and shows true color. The customer svc rep told us it may be our fixtures. We will have to see how other brands of bulbs work in our offices. Again, we were very impressed with Bulborama's service.

M and M Glitter Lamp Review

My children are love this glitter lamp. The colors that emits on the wall is beautiful. Sort of psychedelic in a muted way. The pieces of glitter will remind you of m&m's. If your child still need a nightlight this is the way to go.

I will list the pro's and con's here. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the pieces only stack on top of each other instead of screwing together.

Would I recommend this to a friend or family member? Yes, yes, yes! It is the best glitter lamp, I have ever seen!

Pieces only sit on top of each other

If your child touch the bulb inside they will burn their hands (so for toddlers put it out of reach)

Word's of advice

Shake the glitter before turning it on to get the flow going, turn off the light in your child's room and surprise them, record or see the delight in their face. You will not forget it. This lamp ROCKS!

This lamp was suppose to be a Christmas present for my 3 year old grand daughter. It never arrived. I contacted the seller, the post office, my neighbors, etc. and no one knew what happened to the package. The seller did their digging and came up with nothing also. They did however give me a refund. They were extremely nice and easy to work with. I bought this lamp to replace a small brass lamp used as night-time illumination in a dark hallway. It's a little bigger and brighter than I wanted (even with a 4W bulb) but it's ok. The only real problem with it is that the in-line switch is very stiff and hard to turn.

Just what I've been looking for~

I bought the Greenland Home Antique Rose Bonus Quilt Set, Full/Queen, and I have been looking for bed side lamps for EVER. I wanted something cheap, vintage style, not too bright, not too tall, not too bulky, that matched the pulls on my furniture and about a million other things that made them impossible to find, or so I thought.

Then, I stumbled across these.

I use a 4 watt bulb in these, and if they're both lit, they give the room a nice glow. We don't read in bed, it's more of a find your way and then turn it off when your in bed light. With one on it's the perfect my little girl had a nightmare and now she's glued to my bed and my room light. With a brighter bulb, you can read I did test a bunch of different wattages to see what did what. These are powerhouse little lights at an amazing price.

When moving, my grandson Johnny accidentally dropped the glass shade of my big hurricane lamp, so I had to get a new lamp for my nightstand. Since I've been wanting a stained-glass reading lamp, I browsed Amazon, but they had none in the softer shades that I prefer (pinks/greens/touches of burgundy).

But ... my eye fell on this adorable lady-bug accent lamp and when she winked at me, I fell--head over heels! I had to have her!

There's no need for me to describe this charmer; her looks speak more eloquently than a dove's coo.

When she arrived at my home, I unpacked her and gently placed her on a table beside the living room door. All who enter admire my "little lady" in all her colorful splendor, many offering to buy her. But, of course, I can't part with my lovely Lolita (yes, I named her!), so I send them to Amazon instead.

And NO, you can't have Lolita, either! Your Amazon Cart's only a few keystrokes away--go get your own girl! ... hehehe ...

(In case you're wondering, I did manage to get my stained-glass 24-inch lamp ... elsewhere. It took some shopping around, but it's en route now. Can't wait!)

I purchased this for my daughters nursery as a night light. Not only did it match the lady bug theme, but we found it to be a soft enough light to be used for those late night feedings and not be completely blinding. The light bulb just recently burnt out (after only 3 months of regular nightly use) and found it nearly impossible to replace with same wattage. We bought a softer bulb which works just as well. Great value for such a beautiful piece.

Since I live in California this lamp has to have a 'hazardous warning' label on it because of California Proposition 65. I was not aware of this when I ordered the lamp but saw it when I opened the box. The lamp is made in China ..... as probably 90% of our purchases are .... but I believe it is the responsibility of whoever is selling the product to let buyers know before they purchase it. The lamp is beautiful but I will return this because of the problem. Let's get American companies on board and refuse products made in China where anything goes!
