This item was a nightmare to open. It was by far the worst experience I've ever had with Amazon.

First, the styrofoam used to protect the item crumbled as I touched it. My kitchen and living room were covered in tiny styrofoam balls by the time I was done setting up the lamp. Naturally, they were tracked everywhere and I had to vacuum my whole apartment. Second, this styrofoam did not even protect the lamp it arrived damaged! The lamp socket was smashed inward and twisted sideways. The lamp shade had a large scratch on it. The paint on the lamp harp was peeled off in places. There was sticky residue on the power cord. I don't know if this atrocious packaging was the manufacturer's fault or Amazon's, but it was a horrendous experience nonetheless. I needed to use the lamp right away and was able to use a wrench to bend the socket back into place and into a functional shape, so I didn't bother with a return. I did not want to deal with that styrofoam again either...

I had a few problems with the lamp aesthetic, as well. The glass diamond on my lamp has a few defects in it from when it was forged. One is an odd, flat, circular line and the other two are small dents. Also, the silver neck is shorter than pictured. I placed the lamp on my end table and when viewing it from a standing angle, the lamp shade covers up the diamond (which is the whole reason I bought this lamp I loved the diamond!). If you want to see the diamond without placing the lamp on a higher surface, you'll have to buy a taller harp (I would suggest a 10" one).

The blue color is really beautiful, and I do get compliments on the lamp, but I had such an awful experience that I internally cringe whenever people admire it. I never thought I would resent an inanimate object, but I do. Oh, I do.

Hopefully my experience was the exception, not the rule, but I still would not recommend this product to anyone.

The bulbs are bright, the light is good and not irritable, but as soon as I plug them in, they hum. It is a very low barely noticeable hum, but I can hear it and don't like it. I use another brand CFL which are absolutely noiseless and I love them but they are just a little more expensive. Back to them..

First we have to say that the Bulborama service was amazing they did everything they could to assist us with our issues. Unfortunately using the bulbs in numerous fixtures, and trying new bulbs sent to us, they continued flickering. The flickering does stop when you turn the unit off, and then on again but starts again after about an hour. The light is bright and shows true color. The customer svc rep told us it may be our fixtures. We will have to see how other brands of bulbs work in our offices. Again, we were very impressed with Bulborama's service.

The finial is well crafted and is approx. 3" tall. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't bulky a tall, slender version of this design would have been perfect for my lamp shade. It's so bulky, you would need a huge lamp shade to have it sit well. I have two bedroom lamps with tall finials but they are tall and elegant, so no problem. This one is simply too broad, but the design is nice.

The lamp arrived on time and in good condition. I own many Tiffany style lamps and had my doubts before ordering, even after reading all the reviews that gave the lamp 4-5 stars. A lamp like this usually goes for $500-$800 so you can understand my doubts when the price was just $127.68 including shipping. The description of the lamp color was pink and green and I wanted blue but ordered it anyway. The lamp I received was most definitely blue and not green and pink (wonderful). The lamp and shade was covered in an oily film that was easily removed with a paper towel. The base of the lamp is base metal and not bronze or bronze coated like other Tiffany style lamps I own, but acceptable from a distance. The metal base easily attaches to the lamp base using two thumb screws. I did not use the included bulb in the lighted base and substituted a 40 watt compact fluorescent bulb with a small base that uses only 7 watts (very little heat and lots of light in the enclosed base). I leave the base on all the time as a night light (7W*24H*30D*.065/KWH=0.32/month) (yes, I only pay 0.065/KWH, unlimited, for electricity). I also used two 60 watt warm compact fluorescent bulbs in the top section that are turned on with two pull chains. The bulbs went into the plastic sockets without any problem. The base light is turned on with a switch on the cord and the upper part of the lamp lights with two pull chains. When this lamp is on, the colors and the light output are just amazing. This is not a little lamp, but a full size lamp that can fill up a room with light. Is this equivalent to an $800.00 Tiffany Style lamp? Yes, from 3 feet away, no if you look closer. The metal parts are just colored base metal. The glass pieces are claimed to be soldered together with copper foil. The glass connections look like black plastic. I need to do a scrape test to see if I can detect copper. The more expensive lamps use bronze to connect the pieces of glass. The shade and base are very solid and sturdy with this black material. Overall, this lamp does not compare to a high end Tiffany style lamp at $800.00, but at $127.68 this lamp is a real steal. If you are looking for a Tiffany style, blue, red, green and yellow color and light, this lamp is for you at twice the price. Another company "CK Stained Glass" is offering this lamp at $157.95 plus shipping of $4.95 plus 28lbs*$.50/pound called "Blue American Handmade Dragonfly Tiffany Style Stained Glass Table Lamp Lamps with Lit Base". The one from Amazon has a shipping weight of only 15.8lbs (very strange this weight difference). I don't know where the glass comes from (America or China), but I do know this lamp was NOT made in the US. The lamp has 400 pieces of glass, soldered together with three sockets, pull chains, small bulb and power cord and switch. The packing material (Styrofoam and cardboard plus shipping) would cost over $40.00 alone. This is another example of China building something at $.50/hour and selling below cost while undercutting our labor rates and environmental laws. We cannot compete with this type of business practice. Buy yours while you can, but when all our businesses close because they can't compete, where will we work and get the money to buy their products?

Everyone visiting my home for the first time immediately "ooohs" and "aaahs" when they see my dragonfly lamp adding how much they wish they could afford one. Needless to say, I just say "Thank you. We love it, too." Why not? They wouldn't believe me anyway if I told them I purchased it on Amazon.com. It's been almost a year now and I still am happy we chose this lamp. It's beautiful. Even with just the night light lit.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that this lamp actually looks better than the photo. Perhaps the reason the photo doesn't do it justice is that it appears the picture was taken while the lamp was turned off. This makes the lamp look darker and greener than it appears when turned on. The lamp seems more blue and very iridescent when illuminated. This lamp is very much worth the money even without the 25 watt bulb for the lower section that was included. It is the star of the room when lit and a beautiful feature otherwise. The lamp was packed well and arrived within 3 business days. The only caveat would be that the bolts that mount the stained glass pedestal section to the metal base needed some gentle coaxing (re-alignment) before the holes in the base would line up. This was easily accomplished without the need of any tool other than fingers. For this, I would have only subtracted half a star if I could. Bottomline, if I had the room I would not hesitate to buy a couple more of these beauties.

I think this lamp was a gift for the price!! It looks really beautiful, was really easy to assemble, they well nicely packed (although one of them came full of the white stuff the use to protect it so I had to wipe it). This lamp brightens up any corner. I purchased two of them for every side of a big red velvet sofa I have and they look awesome! The only downside I would say is that now I have to decorate around them and kind of tone everything else down, also when they arrived they were cover in some kind of oily stuff... they were kind of slippery, I guess it's some kind of product they give to it to protect the material or something like that, I'm not sure but I took it as a good sign they were fresh out of the oven!!

I was surprised at the appearance of this lamp. First of all, the base is plastic.

It is also a large lamp and the shade i quite wide. I cannot tell if it looks nice

lit up, as it arrived with missing parts and cannot be assembled. It looks prettier

in the photo than it does sitting here in front of me. I would say it looks somewhat

hunky and gaudy. But as I mentioned, I cannot see it lit up.

I belong to a local Volunteer Fire Department and one of my jobs is building maintenance. We have outdoor lighting on each truck bay door and also lighting at every entrance door. The original bulbs cost $40.00 each and that did not include the light fixtures. They are on from dusk till dawn 365 day per year and we were having to replace them quite often. We decided to try the Daylight CFL #0345544 bulbs. All of the old lights turned on and off by a timer and because of the current they drew the timer actually operated a relay that actually powered the lights. Last year the relay quit working, and after finding out the cost of a new relay would cost $80.00 we decided to look for a more economic solution. I did a search for the brightest CFL light and that's when I found the Utilitech daylight CFL lights #0345544. These daylight bulbs are a very very white light compared to the standard CFL bulbs. As it turned out these bulbs really put out a lot of light and has really lit up our Fire station.

Also inside the Fire station truck bay we had 13 of the 8 foot florescent light fixtures and bulbs. These lights are on 24x7. We were constantly having to change bulbs and ballasts which were quite expensive. So we decided to take all of them down and replace them with porcelain light fixtures and also use the daylight CFL bulbs inside. Wow all of the Firemen were quite impressed with how much brighter it was in the truck bays. We are sure that our electrical utility bill has probably dropped quite a bit but I don't have access to that information.

Anyway I would strongly recommend these CFL bulbs if you are looking for a very bright CFL bulb and only uses only 24 Watts.

I purchased these light bulbs because of the price. All items were received in a timely matter & all bulbs worked. thought i have run into a problem that some light fixtures the bulbs do not work in, i believe it is because of the shape of the plastic around the base of the bulb or the metal base of the bulb is not long enough to make proper connection. I have also purchased the same bulbs & sizing from energy smart & have had no problem.

This is a quality lamp. I am very pleased. The first lamp came damaged from Amazon's shipping. The seller called me and shipped me a new lamp, so that I didn't have to send mine back to Amazon and order again. For $200, this was a bit pricey. Glass shade had a few minor chips. Wasn't worth repackaging and returning, and the green wasn't especially uniform. Finally, the university seal is very subtle and not on a side of the lamp where my colleagues in my office walk in and say, "Hey, You graduated from the U of R?! Cool!" But, then, most folks who attend this great school seem to be sufficiently confident to not need to shout that out to the world.

I purchased this table-top lamp for my bedroom (also 3 sconces and one pendant, for my sunroom) from a lighting distributor, not from Amazon but I love it so much that I want to let everyone know how wonderful this entire line of lighting is. These fixtures are solid in structure and give off amazing amounts of light. Put them on a dimmer and they create an ambiance that can't be rivaled by anything you can get off the shelf at Home Depot or Lowe's. The manufacturer, Minka Group, has quality products with exceptional style, at affordable but not cheap prices. So if you want to take it up a notch and not go broke, check out Minka items. Like many products today this Walden lamp is made in China. I selected it specifically because I needed a table lamp with a small footprint to better fit into a corner on top of my desk. The "satin steel" base is 7 inches long by 5.5 inches wide and is light weight but does the job. I like the looks of the natural blond wood and the stem is adjustable up or down using its' matching wooden knob. The round black electrical cord is threaded and visible on the lamp and is in contrast to the natural color of the wood and gives the lamp a kind of industrial/rustic vibe. The assembly was simple and only took a few minutes. The most annoying thing about this purchase is a large light bulb warning sticker was placed so it's obnoxiously visible and did not peel off in one piece. I had to use my fingernails and carefully peel off the bits of torn paper sticker and try not to leave any scratches. There is still some glue residue left and I will either use some rubbing alcohol or Goo-be-gone to remove it. Overall, the lamp works well for my purposes and is affordable.

Review of Woods 59201 Lamp and Appliance Timer with Grounded 3-Prong Outlet

I bought this to put on my water softener. The softener is old and cycles every day which is more recharging than I needed so I got this so I could have it recharge every few days instead.

The timer works great but the little marks are very hard to figure out. There are two rows of marks which are not close to the on/off tabs so its difficult to line up. Plus the tabs aren't well placed so its hard to tell which are for what time. So it takes a little experimentation.

It does have easy little tabs that you pop up or down depending when you want it on or off. The tabs are good for 2 hours so that is the smallest increment you can go. Other than that you can set it for any number of combinations for the whole week.

Overall, its great if you need a cheap week long timer and you aren't worried about exact times or are willing to spend some time initially to get it set right.

The timer is exactly as advertised. I love the flexabilty of true self directed programming. Love the switches that slide in and out, no pins to lose. The only con is the small switches, but does not reduce the effectiveness of the product.

This timer performs exactly as described. I use it to control a little fountain pump and dripper system to water houseplants while we are away and I needed a timer that was over a week not a day. Last year I used two 24 hr timers tied together to do the same thing...worked but too complicated. This year with this weekly timer it was easy to schedule watering.
