Like many products today this Walden lamp is made in China. I selected it specifically because I needed a table lamp with a small footprint to better fit into a corner on top of my desk. The "satin steel" base is 7 inches long by 5.5 inches wide and is light weight but does the job. I like the looks of the natural blond wood and the stem is adjustable up or down using its' matching wooden knob. The round black electrical cord is threaded and visible on the lamp and is in contrast to the natural color of the wood and gives the lamp a kind of industrial/rustic vibe. The assembly was simple and only took a few minutes. The most annoying thing about this purchase is a large light bulb warning sticker was placed so it's obnoxiously visible and did not peel off in one piece. I had to use my fingernails and carefully peel off the bits of torn paper sticker and try not to leave any scratches. There is still some glue residue left and I will either use some rubbing alcohol or Goo-be-gone to remove it. Overall, the lamp works well for my purposes and is affordable.
