This is a pretty cool lamp. Use it for a night light in the front room. Only glitch is, the description says it has an Amber color shell. ( We had one before and it was Amber color ) This guy arrived with an Orange color shell. No big deal, but seller should state the "real" shade.

I have had this lamp for years now. It works great as a night light and was perfect in my son's room when he was a newborn, creating enough light for me to feed or change him, but it wasn't jarring like a regular lamp, giving off a really nice warm glow. My son is almost four now and uses it nightly in his room to go to sleep. We have moved over 10 times and it has never broken and I have only had to replace the bulb once. Sorry to hear the other reviewer had two break, but we have honestly never had a problem.

Hey folks bought this lamp becuase I've always wanted an art deco style Tiffany lamp. My grandparents had a few in their 1913 house and I have always admired them. Since I'm very familiar with the real ones I would like to point out that traditionally these lamps were made from leaded glass. hand cut glass and soldered together so to speak with lead. So no two or very few were ever alike. Each one was different. This lamp here, this new one, it's as close as you're going to get. The glass is REAL no plastic as some would suggest giving lesser reviews. At first glance one might assume that it's not well made because of inconsistencies but I believe those to be true to the hand made nature (not sure if these are but they look it) It's a heavy lamp like the old ones were and the thing is solid. You pull on one of or both of the chains and it does not feel like it's going to break. Is it an heirloom piece? I don't know if you can find them on eBay the real ones are still better in my opnion but they have LEAD so you might want think about that. I don't know about the new ones seems not to be lead based on color.

This is a nice addition to the arts and crafts style sunroom. It looks great against the exposed brick wall and casts a warm light, which I'm currently reviewing this product under. The only complaint I have is that the square top screw, which anchors the shade to the lamp body, is a bit abrupt and doesn't transition well from the flat shade top. This is a small aesthetic qualm, but if you have the lamp placed in an area where you are looking down on the top of it, then it bothers me a little. However, for being a relatively inexpensive lamp, this is a minor complaint. The bronze base is very sturdy and looks great....and the plastic shade is a dead ringer for leaded glass

My lamp arrived earlier than predicted and in very protective packaging, though I would have preferred fewer peanuts. Although there were no directions included, the method was intuitive, and lamp went together easily. The shade is just what I hoped for; burnt orange, ivory, mossy green accents. Regular round bulbs showed just below lower edge of lampshade, an effect I dislike. However, I decided to try the newer "corkscrew" long-life bulbs, and they are just narrower enough to be hidden beneath shade! I am using 40 watt in both sockets, which gives nice glow in a rather dark corner. I believe 60 watt bulbs are the maximum that should be used. Also, since sockets are independently controlled, a lower wattage could be used on one side as just a nightlight. I like this lamp so much I may buy another; definitely recommended. Addition January 6, 2012: This lamp is so lovely in my living room that I did decide to buy another for a diagonal corner of same room. I continue to recommend this highly.

This is a beautiful lamp to give you warm lighting for your room. The Shade is rather simple, but casts a beautiful light.

I like the fact also that there are two separate pulls and lights. The lamp takes 60 watt bulbs. If you need, however, task lighting, you may want to look at another lamp, as this is more for adding a warm cast of inviting lighting than a light to read by.

The shade looks great and fits the antique lamp fixture. However, there was no "threading" in the lampshade to hold it in place. It's actually the lightbulb that holds it on, but it can still spin on the metal bulb housing.

This lamp looks nice and I like that it can be bright, dim or in between.

Other than that, it was somewhat hard to put together but not too bad. Also the screws that hold the glass over the bulbs don't line up correctly with the holes, so we kind of had to push, fudge, stretch and they are not really all the way in.... didn't like that, so it didn't get five stars.

I really like these lamps. They are stylish, sleek and the foot dimmer allows for nice options to achieve the optimal lighting effect for your space. It also has a small metal plate as the weight in its base, unlike the torchieres I bought at Home depot which had concrete wrapped in a plastic coating. One day, the plastic coating disintegrated and the concrete fell apart all over my floor. What a disastrous mess. Concrete?...really?

Anyway, as far as these lamps go, I only gave it 4 stars for the following reasons:

A: One needs to take extra care in assembling these and getting the tubes to line up correctly. Not a big deal if you have a little patience. It takes about 10-15 minutes to assemble. In fact, getting the parts out of the stupid packaging takes almost as long.

B: The foot dimmer is a little awkward to adjust without actually getting down on the floor and adjusting it by hand. It would have been a better design if they had the dimmer switch on the main body instead of the floor. What are you going to do if you have these behind an end table or couch?

The lamp is a breeze to assemble. How hard is it to unfold and pop the top on? The person who rated the product as 1 star is really pushing it. This lamp is lovely, gives a nice warm glow (I use a CFL fixture in it) and just needs occasional dusting. If you want a great gift, this is it.

Prime Cuts: Everything You Do, `Til I Hear It from You, End of the Day

With an album this good, Conroy would soon be the talk of the town. Known primarily for her dexterity as a songwriter, Conroy has crafted songs for Michelle Wright, Tera Lee, Diane Chase among others. Naturally, for "Talking to Myself" Conroy has put her pen to work in penning all 11 tracks, some with other Nashville scribal giants such as Tom Shapiro, Jim Weatherly and Cyril Rawson. However, the major departure for Conroy since her last studio album (which was 9 years ago) is that she has taken strikes to upkeep herself with a fresher, gutsy and contemporary sound. Without the occasional pedal steel and mandolin, many of these songs could sit side by side with the catalog of say Kelly Clarkson or Hilary Duff. However, the pride of place of this CD belong to the infectious melodies and Conroy's passionate-filled deliveries that sound more and more like a younger Patty Loveless.

"Talking to Myself" has already caused quite a commotion with its single "Ray of Sun" already racing up the Canadian country chart. As perky as the title suggests, "Ray of Sun" finds Conroy sinking potent chops into a sizzling lyric of the first flushes of a summer fling. Such infatuation gets more intense with the equally catchy "Everything That You Do," a track she co-wrote with Tom Shapiro (who has written for almost everyone in country music including Brooks and Dunn, George Strait and Kenny Rogers). However, the weather does turn for the worse with "When" finding a heartbroken Conroy wondering when her tears will dry. Even when the disposition is dour, Conroy still effervesces with verve and affection. "When" quickly segues without a pause into "Til I Hear It from You" a Kelly Clarkson-rocker which finds Conroy strutting away vocally in style and class. In terms of its ability to captivate one's attention, "Til I Hear from You" is without peer.

On the other hand, Conroy does slow down for breath and a few more contemplative moments. On the ballad "I Know," Conroy does let us in on the emotional complexity of meeting one of her former paramour again. With lots of attention paid to the exploration of the hurt, anger and regrets associated with such a predicament, "I Know" is spot on as one of Conroy's most engaging pieces. Writing with Jim Weatherly (who wrote Gladys Knight "Neither One of Us" and Linda Davis' "How Can I Make You Love Me"), "Everyday Ordinary Life" is a gentle ballad which is perhaps also the album's most country tracks. However, if there are any teeth to pick, the album lacks more ballads especially those piano-driven ones.

Nevertheless, Conroy has sink her teeth into some sturdy material here. "Talking to Myself" though boasting in its very contemporary and at times too polished sound, it is as much cherished for Conroy's engaging delivery over songs that give exposition to the human heart without much fanfare and shade. Let us hope the US country market will warm up to Conroy as her native land has had.

The lady looks somewhat dead on the cover with so much mascara around her eyes. But in fact she's very alive and makes a perfect performance all the way through the 11 tracks, which flow from title to title without gaps in between. You don't need to program to avoid dropouts there are none. Great sound from soft to powerful, mainly heartache stories (that's the reason for the dark eyes). It's not really country, but VERY good stuff !!

Firstly, the previous reviewer thought he needed a hack saw to assemble the lamp. This is not the case. The problem is the terrible instruction sheet provided by the manufacturer. Aside from being unclear, they attempt to use the same sheet over a variety of products. Confusing customers is not a good idea. I resolved my assembly issue by calling Quoizel and they were very helpful and the problem was solved.

My disappointment with the lamp deals with the shallowness of the shade. It doesn't quite cover all of the bulb from certain seating positions and when looking toward the lamp from a lower seat, you look into the bulb. Of course this will not be the case for all users, but it is an issue for me and I want to alert potential buyers.

The lamp does not disappoint in looks. It did come with one of the sockets loose and I feel that this is something that their final inspection should have picked up.

If you use a Incadesent bulb as the discription sugjest the color comes out more in the shade than using a CFL. I used a 40w soft white ceiling fan bulb and works well for our needs and the shade glows like the picture in the discription. These Lamps are a bit pricey but are works of art and you get what you pay for.

I bought one of the floor lamps that uses the same style top. Unfortunately the red glass pieces are very dark and will NOT look as light as is shown in the photograph. In fact you have to be within a few inches to see light through the red glass at all. They really should use a much clearer piece because then it would be truly stunning. Also, beware that Quoizel ships the screw top piece in a standard size...you will likely need to use a hack saw to cut it down so that the finial fits snugly. And measure twice..if you cut it too short the finial will not work properly. Otherwise it seems to be nicely made. They do warn customers not to handle the shade by the wire pieces as they are not designed to support the glass weight, so be careful.

I ordered this fixture with the intention of using paper lanterns instead of the glass shades included. It looks great. The cord lengths are adjustable, and you will likely need to adjust them as the entire length is over 5 feet. Unless you plan to cut and splice, the excess cord will be loopy and drapey, as shown in the picture, but much more so. I am pleased with the installation and the quality, especially for the price.

These sconces are very sleek and modern. However, you can not see from the picture the entire thing. The side of the scone is made of a wholly metal. This is a beautiful well-made lamp. The two bulbs give great illumination of the music. I highly recommend this lamp.

3/9/12: I am lowering my rating to one star for this lamp. While it is beautiful and provides great illumination on the music, the bulbs are impossible to remove. There is not enough room to grasp the bulb and turn it. I wound up unscrewing the whole socket but a wire broke. A relative repaired it but he had to actually break the socket in order to get the bulb out. I wish I had known this before I spent $200 on it. I only partially screwed the replacement bulbs in, just enough so the bulb would light; hopefully this will solve the problem.

3/9/12 afternoon: I am restoring my rating of 5 stars. I contacted the company and I am getting a replacement! Blessings on House of Troy and Amazon!

Just be careful when you change the bulbs; it's best if you have a small fingered person do it. Also they recommended using 130 volt bulbs rather than 120 volt bulbs.

I got this lamp for my grand piano. It's the first piano lamp perfect for my piano. The neck is long enough for the light to sit comfortably over the music. The base is heavy enough that is doesn't tip over. The lamp's switch is on the base and easy to access. Definitely recommend it for your piano.

This is not really a review because we returned it without actually using it. Just want to provide some warning so that somebody has similar need like us will not make the same mistake ordering it.

In the description, amazon said the lamp is 81 inch high, i.e., less than 7 feet. But in reality, it is almost 8 foot tall. It is not usable for people like us having 8 foot ceiling.

Assembly : Was not difficult to assemble; wont call it straight forward though (the wrench key, used to tighten the screw in the base, broke in first use; fortunately I have my own tool box).

I'm glad I ordered the lamp with 3 lights & not 5 lights; Now I can easily relate to the reviews which described balance problems in the 5 light lamp. Although 3 light lamp has a fairly heavy base, the lamp is a little bit tipsy i.e. if you try to shift the lamp from one place to other the lamp might tip over easily, so you have to be careful.

Overall : I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Those guys who complain about the height you need to hang the shades and light bulbs. I have 93" ceilings and out of the box mine (the 5-light model) was pressing against the ceiling which surprised me since I measured them at the store (both 3 and 5-light ones) and they were all in the 86-88" range. However after I hung the shades and screwed in the light bulbs, the lights sagged nicely down to reasonable and expected 87 inches. So I feel sorry for those who returned their lamp without giving it a chance... it's your mistake and you're missing probably on one of the best looking floor lamps out there...

The other thing, some people reported stability issues. Mine stands like a tree. Even pushing it slightly in direction of shades doesn't distrupt its balance. I don't understand what some people are complaining about. Not sure if theirs are defective or they didn't put these lamps on flat level surfaces...

Anyway just a heads up for those making a choice: pick one you like most, 3 or 5 light. 3-light one has larger shades I believe. It was a hard choice to make, but you can't go wrong with either one. They're worth every penny, absolutely incredible lamps.

how the heck can you get this light to stand up without tipping over?!? Lucky we tucked the base under our couch so it keeps it from falling over, but still. We would've returned, but said F$$# it as it'll do for now.
