This lamp is OK, but doesn't compare to others I've used for sewing. (My favorite is from bluemaxlighting.com.) The Ottlite could be brighter. It's also very loud to adjust the arm. After almost exactly a year, it is no longer usable because the on/off switch has broken. It is stuck and cannot be turned on or off. I bought mine through Joann.com and they don't offer exchanges or refunds after 90 days.

Saw these at a craft fair and were really cool. Located this on this website and the price was right, included the hanging cord with on/off switch. Comes unassembled with instructions . . . assembly is required. Appears to have instructions for several configurations of the puzzle pieces. Light bulb must be purchased separately. Plan to assemble and use with a LED bulb and use while RVing/patio lighting.

These are GREAT lamps-this one was my second. People who come over ALWAYS comment on the modern colorful look.

Especially nice that they come WITH the lamp fixture, and it's a decent one at that. Makes for an easy all-in-one package.

Finally, you do have to assemble the lamp-the instructions are not QUITE as detailed and clear as they could be, for those who are not "spatially inclined", but after sitting with the detailed diagrams and having some hands on time with fitting together individual pieces, it was actually quite fun to assemble. Though challenging at times, it's easy enough to take the whole thing apart and start from scratch if necessary. You can also create larger, more intricate lamps with multiple kits-which I have not yet tried, but it's a nice option.

This light looks light it could have been the work of Maurits Escher or Bathsheeba Grossman. 30 simple identical pieces interlock to make the lamp. When I first opened the small package, it seemed that the "cards" couldn't go together to make a large lamp, but they fit together to make a shell that was quite strong (I bounced it gently on the floor without issue). It looks great in out dining room.

You _do_ need to put this together and it took me about 45 minutes, following the instructions. Having done this once, it would probably take ten minutes to repeat. Construction hints:

1. Always keep the same face of the card facing the outside of the "sphere" -see the illustration in the manual.

2. Work in a circle around the initial five-sided rosette.

3. Each intersection should join either three or five panels in an alternating pattern.

If shipping weren't as much as the lamp, I'd buy another!

I bought two medium orange lights and one yellow medium size. We love the finished product, but as others have stated..... It requires patience to put together. Expect a little frustration. The you tube video is a life saver, but you have to follow it closely. It helps to notice that they have different size on tops and bottoms of the pieces. That makes a difference. Sometimes they go horizontal, sometimes vertical. Hope that helps you. They look great!

We purchased these to go in our newly finished basement to go over a small kitchenette bar. They have a very nice, sophisticated look that complements our decor very nicely. The glass finish is very nice and of excellent quality. I am glad we went with these as they were just the look I was hoping for.

I am obsessed with a blue/green combination right now, and was ecstatic to come across this unique Tiffany lamp. It's beautiful. Some Tiffanys look very different than in the photos, or they look very different lit up vs. turned off, but this one does not, and there are no surprises. It looks great on or off. The colours online are accurate (predominantly blue and green, with the addition of orange cabochons as accents). The dark blue ceramic base is slightly speckled and beautiful. There are two cons the black paint on the soft wood base does chip off quite easily (some came right out of the box, but I touched up with a black marker so it's not noticeable now), and the metal threads on one of the two bulb fixtures was a bit bent (my husband easily bent it out and back into place). So I wouldn't say it is of the utmost and highest quality in every way, but it's certainly worth what I paid and I love it and am very happy I bought it. With the blue and green velvet pillows on my sofa, it looks fabulous. I'd definitely recommend it. Just keep a black marker handy.

Poor quality with spalling around grommet holes and very sharp areas around the edge of the glass. Shade actually cracked and eventually broke into pieces. I guess due to heat expansion but did not exceed rated wattage.

There were some great reviews for this lamp but I had my doubts as it is so reasonably priced. Husband and I did a double take unwrapping as it is so much more than we expected. It looks like a $350 lamp, infact it's taking the place of a $200 Pottery Barn lamp because it's much, much nicer. Very heavy, very stable. Beautiful finish. If I had a place for it, I'd buy a second one. This was an exceptional purchase.

I bought this lamp because it looked similar to an expensive floor lamp I purchased at a high-end furniture store 8 years ago and I have to say it looks like I bought them together as a set! This lamp is very heavy (which is what i wanted because most iron lamps i looked at in stores were too light & cheap looking) and it looks much more expensive than it is! It seems to be of excellent quality but only time will tell as I've only had for a week! It came in two separate boxes (shade separate) and was packaged so well neither item was damaged even though the inner box the lamp was in was slightly crushed on one side. The only problems for me with this lamp--and this is MY fault for not reading it in the description--was that it does NOT take a 3-way bulb and that the shade is a textured cloth-type material, not a faux leather or smooth material which was not enough reason for me to return as I loved the look of the lamp itself plus I simply swapped out the faux leather shade of another lamp I have in the guest bedroom). The lamp is simply too pretty to return and I haven't found anything comparable that I liked!

The product was delivered on time and is not defective in any way.

But I am not crazy about the way they implemented the gooseneck.

It only works if you put the clamp onto a horizontal surface (e.g. the edge of a table).

I wanted to clip it to the headboard of the bed and that just doesn't work. It just flops down if clipped to something vertical like a headboard.

But it works OK if we clip it to the bedside table but that means only one of us can use it.

Apart from the clamp orientation issue, the product is fine. Bright enough and presumably draws less power and produces less heat since it is an LED.

I have owned 2 of these lamps for about 4 months.

I really like

1. the goose neck clip on

2. the initial brightness

3. The ability to direct light in a focused area

I don't like:

1. The quality of the LED. Both lamps, over time have dimmed intermittently and sometimes flicker. Both no longer give off the strong white color, it has become amber.

2. There is no way to change out the LED, so I have to buy new lamps.

Beautiful and very functional, but really disappointed in the LED quality.

We've owned 5 of these: I've had 3 of them, and my wife two. The problem is that after a year or so of nearly daily use, the switch goes bad and the light flickers and/or dims. I've replaced a couple of mine, and the same thing always happens. My wife uses hers maybe once a week, or even less, and they're still in good working order. So unless you need something for just occasional use, I don't recommend this product.

It clips on easily.

The LED is efficient.

BUT it is a little too much of a spotlight for reading, especially with a kindle. It must be aimed off center or it is too bright and causes reflection on the kindle.

If you are doing some kind of detail work where an easy to aim bright light is a plus this might be perfect.

Reasonably priced, quality desk lamps...hard to find. This one caught my eye though. The design is classic and could fit with various decors. It was shipped very securely, well-packaged, and did need some assembly. Nothing challenging. I was surprised at the size of the lamp. Apparently I didn't pay close attention to the dimensions and was expecting a smaller, subtle light. But this is a fairly big desk lamp with a decent sized base so check the dimensions. Its very sturdy, seems to be of good quality. It adjusts at two points: on the 'arm' and up by the lamp shade so directing the light is easy. My only complaint is that the on/off switch is on the power cord. Luckily, between where we put the lamp and where we plugged it in, we still had access to the switch. But over all I love the look of it and would expect it to last quite some time.

I looked at over 1000 desk lamps before I picked this one. This lamp is great considering it's made in china & could not find a nice looking one made in USA. The size is a bit big for a desk but that was the look I wanted. It takes up a bit more real estate on the desk than expected but it's a nice heavy base. No worry about it falling over. The arm locks at the top by the hood and in the middle. The ball on the end of the arm is heavy and is a real counter weight. The antique copper finish is very nice. The only complaint is the arm does not slide to increase or decrease reach length. This may be the best thing I've bought that's made in China. I guess we will see if it passes the test of time.

I bought this for my desk, and even then tried to switch it to my bedside table, but unfortunately, I won't be using this lamp.

The main reason is the size. I guess I just didn't internalize the dimensions. The lamp is quite large.

The base takes up a lot of space on any surface and the whole lamp, overall, takes up a lot of space.

Additionally, again I didn't realize that there is no on/off switch ON the lamp. It is a cord on/off. It makes it really inconvenient to access. (The cord always hangs down behind the desk/table whatever like it shouldso accessing the on/off switch is problematic.)

The lamp looks nice but really think about the size and accessibility of the switch.

This was supposed to be a reading lamp for my living room end table.

Turns out, it takes up probably a quarter of the entire table, which I did not expect. I'm still very glad I purchased it, though.

It has a nice heavy base and decent quality and I do like it, however, the shade is metal, so it gets very hot if you've had the light bulb on a while, so beware not to put it near any light curtains or any little hands that might get burnt.

This is really an awesome, very unique table lamp. When I purchased it, the description on Amazon and on Kenroy's website stated this lamp has a nightlight in the base. However I just received my lamps and there is no nightlight in the base. I called Kenroy and they stated that they discontinued that feature when they did their revision of the lamp and they failed to update their product description. This was very dissapointing because im sure this lamp would look really awesome with an led nightlight in the globe. Anyway this is still a really striking lamp except for the missing nightlight. I will try to install my own led nightlight if im able to.

Every now and then a product exceeds expectations! That is this lamp! This lamp is heavy duty and very cool! The lamp is designed for outdoor use so it has a heavy duty cord and an all weather push button switch. It also has a thick glass dome that fits as protection over the bulb. The shade has a nice cloth look and feel, but looks like it would stand up to outdoor use. I read one review that didn't care for the elastic securing the shade. The elastic makes it easy to take off and they include a second shade that allows a different look a dark shade for light colored walls and a white one for darker walls. I'm using this next to my bed and it looks amazing! I could see from the photo that this was a glass orb light, but what was unexpected was how cool the hand blown bubble glass looks up close! If you like how the photo looks, you will love this lamp!

The lamps arrived in good condition and were well packed. The lamps are very well made but there is not a nite light in the base and also the desciption states the lamp comes with two shades, one white linen and one dark brown, which as turns out you get a shade frame and two elastic trimmed slipcovers in the two colors that you pull over the frame. I planned to use them indoors at our coastal home because of the nautical theme but I'm not sure about the shade cover with elastic showing.

I was so dubious about this product. However, after looking at all the offerings on Amazon, I selected this little reading light because it had what I wanted: a dimmer. I often read or work in bed while my husband sleeps and I wanted something that would illuminate just my laptop's keyboard or maybe my nightstand without lighting up the whole room. I liked the price of this item, the fact that it was available on Amazon Prime, and that it came in three colors (red, white, and blue.) I ordered the blue one for myself and the red one for my teen. I also liked that it has a nightlight feature.

At first, I couldn't figure out how the lamp dimmed, but I read the instructions and realized that a single tap turns the lamp on or off and a long tap dims or brightens the lights. Bending the neck in a semicircle allows users to lock the lamp to itself and create a nightlight. Not something I use, but my daughter likes it.

The lamp also comes with a power outlet adapter and two cords: one USB and one standard. The lamp can operate when plugged in, or off its rechargeable battery (not charged right out of the box). I thought I'd never use the USB cord and that it was more for people who wanted to use it with their laptops and away from an outlet. I soon figured out that the USB cord is a beautiful thing. The six-outlet adapter I have next to my nightstand is full, so I switched out my phone's USB charger with one that accommodates multiple USB cables. Now I can charge my phone and my little lamp.

The only drawback to this lamp is that it is very lightweight. Normally, that's good, but it would be better for the base to be either wider and/or heavier because it tips easily. It's not a huge problem if the lamp rests on a table, but it's unstable on a lap desk. I plan to stick some hook-and-loop tape to the bottom of the lamp and the top of my lap desk and solve the problem easily.

Bottom line: very pleased with this product. I would buy this again, give as a gift, and recommend to a friend.

I love this little light. I wanted a light by my bed with a dimmer switch so that my melatonin production wouldn't be reduced by the bright light I had. Because I read late at night and often stay up late reading, I'm convinced that the halogen floor lamp I was using was at least one of the causes of my not sleeping well. The Daffodil is adorable looking, very portable, can be used without plugging it in, but can be plugged in to recharge. In addition you just touch the panel to turn it off, no loud click and the same goes for dimming the light. It suits me that there is a whole range from very bright to very dim as opposed to just 2 options dim or bright. It takes a bit of experimenting to get the hang of dimming it just the way you want but after that voila! The small size doesn't take up much room on my bedside table which is great because I keep too much clutter there for a bigger light to fit.

The only reason I took a chance that this would work for me is because of reader's positive comments and because it was so inexpensive. I'm so enthused I'm going to order another for my psychotherapy office because all the lighting is relatively indirect and sometimes I really need more light to read but don't have room to put another major lamp in my office.

If I were to redesign it the only thing I'd change is to make the base a bit heavier and the neck longer so it reaches further but it still is great just as is and since I've had it I'm sleeping much better!

I was in a restaurant where the lighting was too dark for me to read the menu. I said something to the owner and next I knew she showed up with this crazy light. It worked great and now the staff that know me automatically bring one to me when I make a return visit. One of the hostesses has nicknamed it "the Bean on a String" because of how it looks when closed up.

I immediately proceeded to order four of them two blue, two red for use at home and to give as gifts. Only downfall is that one of them has already stopped working and I have not figured out why. Still, I would buy more in a heart beat if I had a reason to do so.
