The lamp is beautiful, but not as formal as I thought from the pictures. My main complaint is that the description states it takes two 120 watt lightbulbs, but in reality it only takes 1 3-way 150 watt bulb. Since I purchsed it specifically for the extra light, I was disappointed to find that it was a standard 150w. Packaging was very good.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'm going with four stars for now, to be downgraded later if the quality turns out to be poor. For now, I'd say this is about what you'd expect for twenty or thirty bucks. I would have loved something like this for my big study desk when I was a college student.

I really like the versatility of this lamp. You can set the arm at a lot of different heights, and the housing that holds the bulb swivels up and down and around to just about any angle. The base is very heavy, so you don't have to worry about the lamp falling over. Just be sure to turn the knobs VERY tightly when you set the arm where you want it. Otherwise the whole thing collapses on itself.

Another nice feature is that the lamp swivels on its base, so you can turn it to wherever you need light without moving the whole lamp. You can also clamp the lamp to your table rather than using the base. The clamp is provided, but you have to mess with it to get it put together correctly. The way they put it together to ship it is not the way you'll use it.

I wish the cord were longer. The directions say you can use an extension cord, but I'm always wary when using a light fixture of indeterminate quality, cheaply made in China. I'm also not particularly fond of the on/off switch on the cord. It's more like a wheel than a switch, and doesn't seem like it will hold up well.

The lamp uses a 40 watt bulb. Right now I'm cautiously using a 60 watt bulb, but I don't recommend doing that over the long term, because it could be a fire hazard. I just haven't had a chance to buy any 40 watt bulbs yet.

Overall, a decent enough product for the price. I don't know yet about its longevity, but it does come with a one-year limited warranty. I'll report back if the whole thing falls apart on me or quits working.

It's a good deal. The base is very heavy, thus the lamp can stretch forward and it's still stable with 45 degree inclination. The changeable design makes it convenient to either put on the table or clip to the edge of table, window etc. The only thing I am not satisfied is no bulb included.

This lamp is well manufactured with an all metal body and is a good light source. If you are using a drafting table or have the lamp clamped to any angled surface, it will not be able to maintain position and the head will drag down under its own weight. To solve this problem it is necessary to also buy a separate adjustable table clamp such as this Adjustable Lamp Clamp Black in order to align the lamp to properly maintain its position. The springs that hold tension on the joints are also only held on by a groove and can easily come off. I've read elsewhere that the housing of the florescent bulb's starter will burn up and not function after about a year of use and is hard to replace, but I have not used the lamp long enough to experience this.

Made in China is the only instruction that you get, and its printed in bold on the box. This is a desk lamp with low luminance. Its output is similar to an old low wattage incandescent light bulb. The color of the light is not akin to halogen bulbs at all. Maybe its the heavy frosting of the cover. I did not return the product, and I'm trying to find a reasonable use for it. I do not recommend this product.

The lamp stands at about 10" high and the base is about 4x2.5 inches oval. It takes 3 AA batteries, and it's plenty bright. Were it just a little larger, and built slightly higher quality, it would be a 5 star item. Build quality is acceptable.

It is a cute little LED desk lamp that runs on three AA batteries. It is small and not very bright, but it is about what you would expect for the price. I actually ordered it as a light for a nightstand in our Chargers-themed guest room. It is a bit underpowered to be a night stand light because you couldn't really read by it, but it will suffice as a bedside lamp for getting in and out of bed in the dark.

The lamp is beautiful, how ever, If you plan on hanging it with a drape to the chain I would suggest buying extra chain and grounding wire. we have had to spend quite a bit more than we planned to hang it. For the price there should be left over materials. I wish that they would have offered that I would have gotten it with the lamp. The other thing is the light bulbs are exposed, no cover. We purchased this lamp for our kitchen after a lot of comparison shopping. The colors are vivid and the high-efficiency twist bulbs work great in it. We used the 20W bulbs which throw out 100W of light each60W bulbs are too dim with this shade. The instructions, though, left a lot to be desired. They consisted of a diagram of the parts included with the lamp and how they fit together. If you are not skilled with electrical things, installing this may be somewhat problematic. Hubby is good with electrical and it was an hour start to finish (with quite a bit of time spent ensuring the lamp hung evenly). All in all, this is a great buy and a fantastic pricesignificantly less than and other Tiffany lamp sites.

I love the colors on this lamp, very bright. It works well on a night stand next to the bed. Nice "mood" lighting. The base of the lamp is is a little cheap looking, but OK. It is made in China. The glass shade is well worth the price of this lamp. Saw it on another web sight for $119. So get it here!

Received as a gift (not from Amazon) and the hole in the shade is off centre so it does not sit straight on the lamp base. Contacted Quoizel and they agreed to send another shade which also has a hole slightly off centre. The fault is obvious as the shade has concentric circles of small mosaic pieces, which, when they reach the top, have had extra pieces added to fill in the area on one side of the centre hole.

This is a very pretty lamp, but, having received 2 shades with the same fault, I wonder if there is a quality control issue. Will be contacting Quoizel again to see if I can get this resolved.

Update (10/8/12): Maria at Quoizel customer service referred our case (supported by photos of the 2 faulty shades) to whomever, to ensure the next replacement we were sent had a correctly cut shade. It arrived last week. The lamp looks so much better with a level shade.

I have revised my star rating to a 4 now we have a perfect quality lamp.

Based on the first two reviews decided to give this one a try. The leather base is solid & looks OK, the red color is nice, the problem is with the shade. It sits over the socket, teetering there, the bulb is then screwed in to "hold" the shade into place, which it does poorly. The shade is wobbly & so far have not been able to keep it straight. The shade is also paper thin, it should provide enough light but it is extremely flimsy. Had I seen this lamp in a store I would not have purchased it. Believe it to be overpriced for the quality.

When I purchased this lamp it was on sale for 54.00 dollars an free shipping. Well what a surprise I got when opening the box. The lamp was big and heavy, not going to tip over, ha. It has a night lite in the bottom which shows the detailing and beauty of lamp.

I have never purchased a lamp with extravagent quality for so small of amount. An the appearance on the table was perfect. Not for a small table either. I bought this for my Mother for Mother's Day and the day it came in she happened to be with me. So instead of waiting a couple weeks to give it to her, she got it early. We unwrapped it together. After putting on the harp, grabbing a bulb, (the nightlight bulb was included) and putting on the shade, we turned it on with delight. The base is a nice warm honey color lit, white with streaks of amber and peach when it's not. The Shade is a satin beige/tan color with a slight hint of a gold sheen to it. It throws plenty of light when it's lit. It's nice and tall and heavy. Not overly heavy that you will have a problem moving it to dust, but heavy enough it shouldn't fall if someone tries to turn it on. Some lamps today are so cheaply made I have found this to be the case. But not with this lamp, high quality all the way. Since my mom loves bead fringe I will probably be taking a trip to the fabric store to add a touch of crystal to it, but with or without it's lovely.

When the lamp arrived, I was dismayed to discover that the glass component (the turtle's shell) had shattered at some point in transit. When I made contact with the vendor via the Amazon website, I received prompt attention, given clear instructions on how to proceed, and within a week, had received a replacement for the damaged glass. When assembled, the lamp is exactly as depicted on the website, is solidly constructed, sits squarely on a table, and emits a warm amber light -not enough illumination for reading (especially in bed) but more than what you might get with a typical plug-into-the-wall nightlight. It would be a nice addition to the bedroom of anybody who's an admirer of turtles.
