When I pulled this from the box my heart nearly flopped. I thought I had broke the frill off of the top of the peacock's head. Luckily enough, due to the material used it just bent over and was easy to straighten back up. No worries! This is indeed a beautiful decorative lamp and has added a nice touch to a center piece where it was placed between several house plants in a living room window. I've noticed neighbors looking at it and catchs their attention. My one and only concern I'd like to voice is the fact the top light bulb inside does not sit high enough to illuminate the upper portion of the peacock's body. Slight disappointment, but it's minor. This is the only reason why I did not give this lamp a 5 star rating.

I purchased my Dainolite Adjustable floor lamp in December 2011 and I love it. It is sitting in my office next to my easy chair for perfect reading. I purchased this lamp because of its' ability to adjust the light from dim to bright as well as adjust the height. I have not had to change the bulb yet, therefore cannot say whether this function is easy or not. Overall, I would recommend this fixture to a friend.

I was looking for a piano lamp for YAMAHA U1. House of Troy was recommended by a local dealer, which is not bad. Then I found this very similar item on Amazon.com at a cheaper price. As the style and color met my requirements, I ordered it. The lamp arrived on time and well packaged, and my daughter loves it. A little drawback is the tilting angle is limited, as a result, my daughter finds the light a bit too bright. Except it, the light is warm, and the range covers the book well, and it looks very nice and a perfect for our black YAMAHA U1.

Made in China is the only instruction that you get, and its printed in bold on the box. This is a desk lamp with low luminance. Its output is similar to an old low wattage incandescent light bulb. The color of the light is not akin to halogen bulbs at all. Maybe its the heavy frosting of the cover. I did not return the product, and I'm trying to find a reasonable use for it. I do not recommend this product.

I've been looking for a long time for the right bedside lamp and hesitated due to the cost, but after trying other options, found nothing else fit the bill. I wanted an adjustable LED lamp of good brightness that had sufficient reach in height and extendability. This is a very long lamp that is amazingly adjustable and really did the trick. The light quality is lovely. It's more than bright enough for reading in bed, and the directionality of the LEDs minimizes spillover to anyone who might be beside you. Even extended, the lamp holds its position nicely, and thanks to the clamp-on option, takes up next to no room on the bedside table.

This along with Hula Kahiku Kane were given to me as gifts from a loved one and both are beautiful pieces. I have them in the Bronze which to me portrays the hula dancer much more than the gold. I wasn't sure what I was going to get at such a low price point, but these are every bit as pretty as they look in the picture. They are very tall (which is great!), sturdy, and the hammered copper is pretty. They look very "modern" out of the box and hopefully the copper will "age" a little bit with time. Reliable flame.

I purchased four of these torches. I thought they looked great. However, the finish comes off fairly quickly and the wicks were inconsistent. Hard to keep lit. The copper comes off and just looks kind of tacky. I wouldn't recommend these. I'm having to replace them. Its too bad, I liked the design.

I purchased several torches in the hammered blue finish a couple of years ago. They have weathered beautifully. I inserted the poles into cast iron bases placed in various locations on my deck. Their location can be easily changed. Not only are they effective at keeping the bugs away but they are decorative as well. Everyone wants to know where I purchased them.

If you do not wish to cut your lamp cord, you may wish to consider this:

Lutron TT-300H-WH Electronics Plug-In Lamp Dimmer, White

It is basically exactly the same thing, but you plug your lamp into it and plug it into the wall, as opposed to splicing the cord-modifying version (above) onto the existing lamp cord.

If you ever may want to use the device with a different lamp, the plug in version would be easier as you would not have to unsplice the device from the existing lamp cord, and then repair or replace the existing lamp cord.

This is a fantastic design. Easy to install. Just clip your wire, insert ends, push down on two buttons. DONE. Life would float by dreamily if all things went this way.

There is no nightlight that I can find.

My only complaint is that I can't find it in black.

What they consider the nightlight, if you go to their website, is the single red led on the front by the slider. It is a light so you can find the dimmer at night. Hence, nightlight.

Yes, you have to cut the lamp cord, but you don't have to strip the wires or do anything other than use a pair of scissors (after unplugging!) to snip the cord, push the ends of the cord into either side of the dimmer, and press down the plungers that grab the cord and automatically make the electrical connection for you. It took less than a minute to install, it feels safe, solid, and secure, and it works great.

This is very easy to install.... Only thing you'll have trouble with is the thick plastic packaging it comes in. I hope to find this dimmer in brown so I can apply it to more lamps.

Simply choose the spot on your cord you want the dimmer, make a straight cut across the lamp cord (no diagonal cuts), push your cut-cord into the dimmer device until it won't go in any further, push the dimmer-tab all the way in until it's flat (level) with the dimmer-back..... Do the same with the other end of the cord.... You'll see 2 tabs on the back of the dimmer that flop around....these tabs obviously have prongs on the other end of them (inside the dimmer casing ) ...these prongs/teeth are what you'll push into the plastic protective casing on your cord-ends. You'll feel it piercing through your cord.... Just keep pushing until the tabs are flat against the back of the dimmer.... This let's you know the prongs/teeth have pierced through far enough to make contact....

Plug the lamp in and give it a try!

You did know to UNPLUG THE LAMP FIRST BEFORE YOU CUT THE CORD .... Didn't you? !!

I'd been shopping for a pair of lamps for our Asian-styled bedroom when I came across the Kenroy Vail. I am a mid-range shopper and the cost was much less than I'd intended to spend, so I was concerned the quality & overall appearance wouldn't measure up. I was pleasantly surprised when I found them to be quite solidly built for the price. I thought the slate base may appear too 'tacky', but I do love natural stone and use it throughout my home. The slate and other materials used nicely complement our Asian theme. Although I'm not sure I would feel comfortable displaying them in the main living area of my home; on the bdrm nightstands, they are perfect! The linen shade casts a pleasant, cozy glow, but is also bright enough to read a favorite novel before dozing.

Just what I was looking for and just like the picture. It was well packaged for shipping and came promptly. The light bulb candle is a little crooked inside and the lightbulb hits the sie of the glass at the top so it is not as well made as I was hoping for , but not worth the hassels of returing and the expenses of postage.
