The lamp is a night light it is only 8 inches tall. The dish you see in the picture does not come with the lamp. It does make a nice night light, but it is not a table lamp.

These are good, but don't match the efficacy of the Phillips Award Winning LED, which is a much lighter yellow. Also, the yellow color when turned off is an issue in some lighting fixtures. We found that the Cree A-lamp LED replacements were better and cheaper for most of our applications.

I bought these to replace incandescent bulbs and they work great. Very low power consumption and heat output, but a little bigger than an incandescent. The yellow shell is a little funky, but it really does shine with a white cast. The only drawback is that some times you can see a little of the yellow through the lamp shade or globe. We noticed a drop in our monthly electric bill when we switched to all LED bulbs, although with the prices it will be longer than I like before we recoup our cost. Eventually the bulb will still pay for itself though. And all of the Philips bulbs that claim to be dimmable really are dimmable. People that have had issues are probably using cheap dimmers. Heath-Zenith and Levitron dimmers work fine with these bulbs.

The main reason Phillips created this bulb is to have an energy saving bulb that's compatible with all incandescent lights. They did really well, and it does use a lot less energy. It looks different, space age in a way, compared to the antiquated glass bulbs. It's also very durable: I have dropped these onto my wood floor and it works fine.

But the best part about this is the life. I haven't had to replace this bulb since I first installed a similar one by them a year and a half ago. My light fixtures require screws to remove, and sometimes i would go a whole week without changing a burnt bulb because of the frustration of having to change it. Not having to change a bulb for years, maybe even over a decade (if you live or work in the same place that long) is a huge convenience, and pays for the bulb in both actual savings and time spent.

Read online that some LED lights don't produce UV light which attract insects so I thought I would try this as a bug light in my yard post. Working great so far. The bugs and spiders have all moved across the street to my neighbors CFL yard light. The 8 watt consumption is just an added bonus!

Its a tiny little cute solar light. Its only less than a foot in length and about 4 inchs in height. Also,each turtle is only about 3x3inch in size. Anyway, the light is yellowish-brownish (due to the carapace color) bright and turns on automatically at night (charging at day). Easy to use, just turn on and put it somewhere outside and enjoy it each night. We put it in the corner of our patio and it enlights the whole corner in a faint but cozy way.

The product is cute, but ten inches shorter in height than the description indicates, and six inches less as long as the description indicates, both indications in the product description distinctly say, "assembled" height/length. I'd suggest that Amazon revise the product information to indicate that this is a very small item. As it is, this is highly deceptive advertising.

Moonrays often come up with uniquely lit solar-powered statues and this is no different. First thing to note is the current dimensions shown on the Amazon product page of 14 x 4.2 x 17 inches are way off. I'd say the length is about 12 inches, the height maybe 5" and the width 3". It's still quite large but no way near the size stated in the description at the time of writing.

Each turtle lights up separately at night with a suitable glow on its back. Without cracking it open I couldn't say for certain but I'd hazard a guess that each one contains just a single LED. They're still quite bright but in a serene down-played way and not super bright glowing. You won't be lighting up parts of your deck with this one and that's really not what it's for the little fellows just look cool tucked into a dark corner of your garden ready to add a splash of shine at night.

Construction is as expected; pretty much a single resin mold with solar panel on one side. Despite us placing the solar panel against the deck railing there's still enough UV that gets poured into them to light them up for several hours.

As always with solar-powered object d'art I recommend replacing the cheap NiCad batteries that are supplied with 2700mA or greater NiMHs which you can buy here on Amazon for a couple of bucks each. The difference in longevity of duration and brightness of the light is significantly improved by doing so.

So you have here a very nice and unusual item that graces any garden or deck.

These little turtles are so cute. I purchased them for my brother who lives in Florida, and I happened to be at his house when they arrived. I have to say I was a little embarassed because they were so SMALL. They took a day to charge, and then 2 of the 3 turtles lite up. He was going to move them to a more sunny location (they were in complete sun where they were, but he felt the front of his house had more direct sun for a longer portion of the day). Considering they were not shaded by any trees during the day, I feel they should work where you want to place them for the effects of decorating! I know they weren't a lot of money, but I don't feel they were worth even the $16.00 that I paid. Very disappointed.

I purchased this product for my 6 yo son's room as we are planning a do over in a cowboy theme. I had been looking for a western themed lamp for weeks when I came upon this item on Amazon and was immediately drawn to the detail of both the shade and the base; in particular, the range of colors on the base (horse, saddle, fence...). The transaction went through smoothly and within a week to ten days the item arrived. Well, AN item arrived. Just not THE item I had purchased.

While the item that arrived was similar to the one pictured it was NOT the item pictured. That detailed, multi-colored base that I was so thrilled about? Nothing but brown on brown on brown on brown. Not a color to be had, other than brown. I didn't want a brown lamp. A brown lamp will be lost against the dark wallpaper in my son's room. What I wanted was the lamp that was pictured in the photograph. But now I have a brown horse lamp. Dark brown. A clear case of bait and swith. Buyer, please beware!!!

To be fair the company did promptly respond to my emails and offered me a full refund waiving the restocking fee. While I appreciated the gesture I must say I still find myself extremely angry because now I am faced with an extra 10-15 dollar expenditure to repack and reship this item....which will be on top of the 8 dollars I already spent to have it shipped to me in the first place. That'll be over 20 dollars I will have had to spend in order to get 26 dollars back that I never would have spent if the item had not been misrepresented to begin with. Is the hassle of lugging it to fed ex for the return worth 6 bucks? What if they claim they don't ever get it back or something happens to it en route? I'm now out almost 50 dollars, that's what!

At the very least this company needs to take one of those lamps out of it's packaging and take a new photo for it's potential customers. In home decor the actual color of the product MATTERS.

Purchased on a Tuesday and for $3.99 more it arrived on Thursday. After reading other reviews on the lack of light, I chose white to help produce a brighter light. The led lights are dim and like the other reviewers, reading might even be difficult. It is small! Be warned it, at best, would be best for a kids room as a small table lamp. My daughter loves the touch on/off switch and that her iPod plugs into it. Overall I'm pleased, but if you want a regular reading light, move on.

This reading light is very bright and works well. I really like that it can be opened up and the clip also functions as a mini stand. I actually never clip it to my book. Instead I just rest the light on my stomach/chest while reading in bed. Works so well my little girls always want to use it so I'm going to buy two more. I purchased two of these lamps for the nightstands in my bedroom after one of our existing touch lamps broke. After a lengthy search, I decided to take a chance on these. Normally, I hesitate buying unreviewed products, but I really liked the pattern and the size was just right for the space.

I appreciated the free shipping offered by the seller, and the lamps arrived on time and seemed to be packed well---no complaints there. They were unassembled, but the instructions were simple enough. Unfortunately, as I unpacked the pieces, problems began to surface.

First, a light bulb was missing. Next, the spiral frame of one shade was so uneven that, when the entire lamp shade was assembled, one section was noticeably elevated. Then, I unpacked the etched petal inserts only to find a filthy-looking film on the inside of one. Granted, it didn't show through to the outside, but it was gross nonetheless, and it would not wash off. Last, but not least, one lamp base was marred by a handful of nicks.

By that point, I was pretty ticked off. After all, I had ordered two beautiful lamps and ended up with only one I could actually use, and that was after mixing and matching the pieces. So, back to the seller, the other one went. The third lamp I received has a few issues as well, but nothing so severe as to warrant another return.

On the upside, the seller---Lamps Plus---was very professional and accommodating with regard to my complaints. I would buy from them again. However, under no circumstances will I ever purchase another one of these particular lamps---they're beautiful, but the quality just isn't there.

First, the description is incorrect. It states that the bulb is a 13/20/25 watt bulb and that this is equivalent to a 40/75/100-watt incandescent 3-way bulb. This is incorrect. For nearly all CFL brands, a 13-watt CFL is roughly equivalent to a 60-watt, not a 40-watt, incandescent bulb.

Second, if you are looking for the effect of a true 3-way bulb dim light in low to bright light in high this is not the bulb. Since the low is equivalent to a 60-watt, not a 40-watt incandescent, it is not that dim. In addition, the difference in brightness between the medium and high settings is virtually undetectable, and definitely not equivalent to a 100-watt incandescent.

The comment above is based on observation of only one bulb since the second bulb I purchased at the same time arrived broken.

I am converting all of my household lights to LED's that use 90% less electricity. Next month the new Switch150 3way LED bulb will be released but I didn't want to wait so I replaced the two bedside lamps in my guest room with these CFL's. These cost $10 each and the new LED 3ways will be closer to $80 each. These CFL's work great with little or no delay in their startup and no flicker and no warm up period to get to full illumination. The color is warm but not yellow basically the same color temperature as the incandescents they replaced. They are a slightly longer form factor than the bulbs they replaced so I had to go the the local hardware store and get longer lamp shade holders but that was $5 and an easy install. No doubt Amazon sells those too. These CFL 3-ways top out at 100 watt equivalent not the typical 150 watt equivalent of an incandescent bulb. I would prefer the brighter setting for reading but I think my guests will typically have had so much wine that evening that they won't need to read much before drifting off to sleep.
