When you telescope the arm out so far (and that's why I bought it!) it needs a super strong clamp to hold it, and the clamp they use, while quite good, could be even heavier-duty. I beefed it up by drilling a hole in the bottom of my work table with a spade bit for the clamp to rest in, and now it works. I have not yet put an incandescent bulb in, but one of these days I will, and that feature will be especially helpful in judging colors. Good lamp for the money.

I love this lamp and, of course, the shade makes the lamp. It is elegant, beautiful, and provides an extra warmth of gold and subdued green. Don't judge the lamp by the daylight it may give the appearance of being dark and heavy. You really have to wait until dusk, turn it on, and say ahhhhhhhh...now that's the lamp I wanted.

The color was a little darker than I expected and not as glossy, although when the lamp is on it appears much more like the picture...but still darker, and more light blue than turquoise. The shades (I ordered 2) are a tad bit dented, but I just rotated the dented areas to the wall. I think the price is a little steep, but the style and color are perfect for my bedroom, so it was worth it for me. They are lovely little lamps...my husband likes them as well.

I purchased 2 of these lamps. I love them! One thing wrong about them is they chip very easily, one of mine came chipped and when the Orange paint chips it's white underneath and looks tacky. I have had these lamps on either side of my bed with matching Orange pillows. I loved them! I don't have these any longer as my "modern" phase was overlooked by my always love for rustic/moose/bear etc. theme. But these are great lamps!

I had originally ordered one of these lamps from a major retailer. It was a little pricey, but it was perfect for my daughter's room. When it arrived, my daughter loved it, so naturally we decided she needed a 2nd one. The problem was that the major retailer had no more stock! So, I Googled "Viko Table Lamp" and found it on Amazon.com. AND, it was nearly HALF the price of the first one I bought. Amazon's lamp came in perfect condition, looks great in the room, and I saved money. Does shopping get any better? I don't think so!

This lamp is all metal construction and it stays where you put it. Also the handle makes it easy to adjust the angle (especially if you're still using those hot incandescent bulbs!) The desk clamp part is also metal, meaning it won't break like those typical plastic ones. This is an excellent lamp for the money!

I love the price !!! Very easy to use ( the top of the lamp has a circular part you twist and it comes on) and I love it!!!! The bottom is padded to make sure no furniture get scratches and overall I love it! The bottom wiggles a little but it is defiantly not an issue.It was what I expected and i am very happy with it I got it early and will be shopping with this company again!

This lantern exceeded our expectations. Looks great hanging in the stairwell and big enough for people to really notice but not too huge. Great quality and we bought the Cadalera lights from Lowes that last 25 years so hopefully will never have to mess it with it again. Was half the price of what it is sold for at Home Depot. Solidly built.

it was a lot smaller than we thought it would be, yes it says 17 inch, cord turn on and off is ok, I would rather you could turn on and off with touch or with switch by top of lamp as most traditional lamps are turned on/off. for the price, I would have ordered something else.

Cheap Super Bright 12 Led Portable Desk Lamp

I ordered this light JUST because it had electric connection, as well as battery option. It does exactly what I wanted it to do. I can plug it into an a/c connection, take it with me on trips, and it shines brightly. It is very light-weight, and the cord is extremely short, possibly designed that way to keep it from being tugged out of place by a heavy cord. But I can make do with that because it is bright!

The vendor mailed the product quickly. Postage is almost more than the price and perhaps a little higher THAN it actually cost to mail it.

But it is a good product, may not stand up to rough treatment.

The Super Bright 12 Led Portable Desk Lamp was recommended by a well known quilt shop in the midwest, with there ok, I knew it must be something really good. I'm pleasantly surprised by the brightness of this little lamp, I can focus the light directly on my work allowing me to see my work & sew accurately. for the price this little thing is pretty great. the only issue i have is the cord it comes with is kind of short for my needs, but i already had another cord that fit it perfectly that was long enough, so it worked out perfectly. it is very bright and clear, not blinding if you happen to look at it though, because the light is a blue-ish color, not just bright white. i am betting that being used as a desk lamp for my night time computer and needle work, this little guy will be in use for a long time.

This thing came WAY smaller than I thought, but after looking again I suppose I should have known.

It is fairly bright, but has a narrow field.. most worthless except maybe as a flashlight.

The cord that comes with it is too short for just about any purpose and the battery case fell off at exactly the wrong moment.

I spotted this lamp at an office store but found it on Amazon for a lower price. The Ott-Lite is a really attractive and functional lamp. I put it next to my computer and it doesn't "glare" but provides clear lighting. The sculpted, inflexible design prevents the bulb from shining in your face. Some task lights have a tendency to target you with their glaring bulbs or produce heat which does not contribute to serenity in the cubicle. This lamp frees one from such constraints. I pop it on first thing and it makes colors look brighter, letters more clear and reduces eye strain. Maybe it's the way the bulb is designed but it's very soothing to be around the light and it's very modern and futuristic looking with the smooth flowing lines. I look forward to it being offered in some of the other colors on Amazon!

I was in need of a desk lamp during finals week after my 6-year-old one went out. Found this on Amazon and was interested because of its design and the advertised quality of light.

When I plugged the bulb in and tried turning it on the first time I thought it wasn't bright enough (that was during the day), but by the time the evening came in and I turned it on to use for real it was very bright and useful.

Only two down sides: 1) it's shorter than I thought it would be, and so the curved design actually limits the light into a confined pool under the bulb (you have to put things directly underneath the lamp in order for more light to hit it; but you could probably just set it on a block or book or something); 2) the power button is pretty stiff and is situated vertically (instead of most desk lamps where it's horizontally on the base) so you'd need to hold the whole thing in order to press it.

All in all, it does what it should as a desk lamp and is great for reading and desktop work. Aside from two minor points, it's really a nice desk lamp with a sleek design, and much cheaper on Amazon (hopefully it'll last at least another 6 years, which would make it worth the money).

I have a similar lamp that uses (seemingly) same type of bulb, but this lamp's light is definitely better than the other one when put them side by side. Reading books and going through a picture album become a lot more enjoyable, because the colors just jump out of the paper.

The only reason I took 1 star is the switch is somewhat stiff, so I'm not able to push the button with a single finger; either I need to use the thumb to push the button while holding the lamp with the rest of the fingers or use two hands. I think it would have been better if the switch were located at the base.

I put this desk lamp on my wishlist for Christmas and received this as a gift. I really wanted a new lamp that would provide better lighting than what I had been using and I liked the idea of a larger lamp that might cast more light over my desk.

Unfortunately what arrived was not as expected. Generally I really prefer desk light over a ceiling light because it's not harsh and it's easier on my eyes (which tend to be very dry and sensitive to bright, unnatural light). This lamp's description promised natural lighting, which I was very attracted to, but in reality, while the light is nice, it still feels a little too strong for my eyes. The irony is that it feels like the light does not cast very far it feels very concentrated on one area of my desk and the result is that the rest of my office is darker than I would like.

My compromise is that I have had to place the lamp on a taller object on my desk this helps to make it a little brighter, but with it higher off the desk, I am more able to see the bulb and it hurts my eyes.

The lamp's body is also made out of plastic (which was probably in the description, but I failed to notice this), making it feel cheap. The button is hard to push in, so I usually have to grip the base of the lamp to steady it as I push in the button.

I feel really bad that my family member purchased this for me. I'll hang onto it for a while, but I doubt I will be using this as a long-term solution.

The lighting works fine but the switch is so stiff that it tends to get stuck. It is so frustrating to push the switch hard for a couple of times to release the switch. And finally, today it got stuck again and there was no way to make the switch come out. Such a fatal design problem. I am returning the item.

First, the description is incorrect. It states that the bulb is a 13/20/25 watt bulb and that this is equivalent to a 40/75/100-watt incandescent 3-way bulb. This is incorrect. For nearly all CFL brands, a 13-watt CFL is roughly equivalent to a 60-watt, not a 40-watt, incandescent bulb.

Second, if you are looking for the effect of a true 3-way bulb dim light in low to bright light in high this is not the bulb. Since the low is equivalent to a 60-watt, not a 40-watt incandescent, it is not that dim. In addition, the difference in brightness between the medium and high settings is virtually undetectable, and definitely not equivalent to a 100-watt incandescent.

The comment above is based on observation of only one bulb since the second bulb I purchased at the same time arrived broken.

I am converting all of my household lights to LED's that use 90% less electricity. Next month the new Switch150 3way LED bulb will be released but I didn't want to wait so I replaced the two bedside lamps in my guest room with these CFL's. These cost $10 each and the new LED 3ways will be closer to $80 each. These CFL's work great with little or no delay in their startup and no flicker and no warm up period to get to full illumination. The color is warm but not yellow basically the same color temperature as the incandescents they replaced. They are a slightly longer form factor than the bulbs they replaced so I had to go the the local hardware store and get longer lamp shade holders but that was $5 and an easy install. No doubt Amazon sells those too. These CFL 3-ways top out at 100 watt equivalent not the typical 150 watt equivalent of an incandescent bulb. I would prefer the brighter setting for reading but I think my guests will typically have had so much wine that evening that they won't need to read much before drifting off to sleep.

I ordered two lamps. Got shipped out fast and it came a day early. When I put the light bulb in the socket of the lamp it just flickered. There was something wrong with the socket of the lamp. I didn't say nothing to where I ordered it from. It was Monday when I received the lamps and Thursday the same week I received another set of lamps that I didn't order. The lamps both work. I hope I don't have to pay for the second set of lamps. I hope they sent me out the second set cause the first set was not suppose to have been sent out. Thank you Phyllis

I have owned this lamp for about a year now and love it as much today as the day it arrived. I purchased two of these and they flank my fireplace, each on a side table. They look so elegant and classy. These are a heavy weight so they will not tip over when brushed by someone walking by. The chrome does not easily mark or fingerprint so they always look shiny and clean. These are well made, and Uttermost is my favorite lighting company. I own many lamps from Uttermost and all are well made, sturdy, well balanced and beautiful. I received them on time and well packaged. I would both buy from this vendor again as well as buy this product again. You will easily be able to purchase lamps and other lighting products less expensively than Uttermost, but you will get what you paid for. If you choose to spend a little extra for this brand, you will find, as I have, that it is by far the best value for long term beautiful lighting.
