My lamps arrived after 16 days and the shades were damaged (both). Also, those shades look too big to me, it covers the ball underneath. Lamps are really big, but they look nice, and I like the bottom part more, the wood oval looks cool in the bedroom and matches to my furniture. Warm color wood plus modern look. I just hope they will replace the shades and I will get them in a good condition, otherwise, I will return them back.

I love this little helping hand -can't believe how handy it is. As a jewelry designer, it's a must have for holding bracelets while I add parts to it. The adjustable arms work perfectly so that I can customize to the size of the item I'm working on. I have found it just as helpful with necklaces, because of how wide I can adjust the clips. Also, the clips are quite strong, so no chance of anything falling off.

When it came in the mail, it was totally assembled, however, the nuts were so tight, I had to ask my other half to loosen them so I can move everything as I need. He fussed at me for spending so much money on another tool. He thought it cost between $30 and $50. He quit fussing when I told him how affordable it was. It is definitely worth the price.

In order to keep it from tipping over, I keep the magnifier toward the back to give it balance (that's all I use the magnifier for). That gives it enough weight to counter the weight of the jewelry I'm working on. I have a magnifying lamp that I use for better vision, so the magnifier serves no other purpose than for balance -but it works perfectly. This tool has ended a lot of frustration, making my work much more enjoyable.

I'm planning to buy a second one so I can have two pieces in progress at the same time.

I bought this for use with some hobby electronics soldering. After reading the reviews I figured I knew what to expect and for a little over $6 shipped (gotta love Amazon Prime) I took the leap. Some people complained that it was not assembled and came without instructions. Mine was ready to go and completely assembled out of the box. Others complained that the magnifying glass rattled around with the parts and was scratched. Mine was wrapped in plastic and cardboard and as I said earlier, it was completely assembled. Others complained that it is "tippy", and I fully intended to mount it to a board and make a little portable soldering station. I don't find it "tippy" or uneven at all. For what I will use it for it is perfect. It totally exceeded my expectations given the reviews. I hope everyone else who orders this has the same experience I had. Maybe I'm lucky, and I'm sure there is some validity to the other reviewers complaints, but this is exactly what I had hoped for.

Also, it was a bit "tippy" until I figued out to put the second to last "arm" on the glass forward and the last arm heading to the back. (This puts more weight to the front.)

Helping hands tend to get some flak in the eletronics community but they can be quite invaluable if you know how to use them. It helps to use two of them to hold the board. If you only use one then it tends to tip over. A second word of advice is to put a little heat shrink over the tips of the alligator clips. I find this helps them hold onto the board better while preventing the sharp edges of the clips from digging into the board.

This is the perfect lamp for clipping onto your headboard in order to read in bed. Nice styling/shape. It takes a 60 watt bulb (most little lamps take only up to 40 watts, I think). The hood is white inside giving more reflected light. I highly recommend this lamp. . . . and a great price, too.

I purchased two of these to use as bedtime reading lamps. One of them is perfect and is exactly what I was hoping for. The other isn't and it droops... the neck can't support the weight so I have to bend it at a funky angle to get it to stay which is a little bit disappointing. Overall a solid lamp for the price, but beware of the drooping issue.

If you try to install this on a vertical board, say on a headboard as a reading lamp, it just falls over limply. Since I would imainge this is one of the main reasons people would buy this lamp, that seems like a handicap. It works better if installed on a horizontal board, such as the edge of a desk. And it would be easier to use if it had a switch on the lamp coard instead of on top of the lampshade, which gets hot if you use an incandescent bulb.

Arrived today in a huge box with lots of Styrofoam packing. It was very secure and came with complete instructions. Lead soldering is black and is not in perfect condition. If you stand and look at it very close you will see lots of imperfections, but from across the room on a table this little beauty shines. I have amber colored bulbs in it and it just enhances the color even more. Couldn't be more pleased with how it changed the whole look of my home.

Well, actually, I bought this lamp solely for the shade. Never was it my intention to change my current floor lamp. All that it needed was a beautiful new shade. At less than half price ($144.17 marked down from $383.75) Chloe's shade alone was well worth my purchase. Made of 204 Tiffany-glass pieces there's a high depth of color here and it's very well designed.

Not to impugn Chloe's floor lamp in any way, the ensemble is not particularly my style below the shade. Consequently, as planned, I switched the shade to my other floor lamp. Immediately seeing that the shade was too low I rectified the situation by changing the harp. From an eight inch harp I went to a ten inch one. Now the height of the shade is where it should be. I bought this for my 2 little Bonsai trees at my office. Knowing the fact that Bonsais need lots of light, at the same time you can't just place them close to each other under a single source of light. I went through lots of options and I didn't really want to buy 2 separate desk lamps as it would be too crowded. And here came this great desk lamp. I'm very pleased with everything about it, the sturdiness, quality of finish and durability. Some of the most important facts:-

The base is quite heavy which is one of the most important factors in any desk lamp for stability.

Goose-neck is very very flexible, can almost bend til the lamp reaches the base! yet very stable and sturdy (won't bend with movements).

It has 2 separate switches which gives you the option to either turn both lamps on or only one of them. Also the switch is made of plastic to avoid heat and it's quite wide which makes turning them very smooth.

Design is quite classic yet very special and elegant, specially if each lamp was bent differently. Finish is just great.

I use 2X 23W CFL DayLight on those.. and let me tell you it's really bright :D Overall I'm really pleased with the product.

This is a great lamp. The base is very nicely weighted. No need to be concerned that it will tip, for whatever reason. I believe that the majority of it is metal. The shades definitely are and that's a plus. Heat on plastic shades would cause brittleness and eventual breakage. The only downside to the metal is heat from the bulbs can make the shades very hot to the touch. So, I took the advice of another revue and put in 13 watt soft whit spiral flourescent bulbs (60 watt equivalent). WOW, such nice bright light. I was worried that it wouldn't be bright enough and was actually searching for a daylight lamp. But, I use this lamp all evening to light the room and didn't want something that used expensive bulbs. this lamp had such high revues and now I see why. I love that each light can be turned on or off individually. I have mine on an L-shaped desk, half of which is used for sewing, while the other half has my computer. Very good light for sewing, ladies. Also, aiming each side is a breeze. The gooseneck works like a charm. Best I've ever used. I usually end up finding something wrong with everything I buy (nothing's perfect and, yes, I'm picky), but I can't even think of a negative. This lamp should last a very long time. It's a keeper, for sure.

Was looking for a fluorescent desk lamp replacement and found this one. Well made and looks great. Nice black finish with solid base. The lamp does get hot with 60 watt bulbs, however we replaced these bulbs with Hitlights (Amazon) LED 60 watt equivalents and it does not even get warm.

Our toddler loves the lamp but managed to pull the stem off of the mushroom pull within a few minutes. The lamp still works and looks cute but we are glad she did that while we were in the room and could get the stem from her. We are debating trying to glue the stem back on for her.

I just received this lamp yesterday and I have already ordered another! This lamp is beautiful the shape is gorgeous and the quality of the materials is really nice. This is a heavy lamp. The shade does appear a little more "golden" in person until you put the light on and then it looks more beige/toasty. This is a great, traditional/transitional piece that goes with so much it added a little punch to the table top without competing with other items and artwork. I love the concept of this little light. However, a cheap plastic switch kills the reliability. I switched mine on, it worked. Switched it off, then switched it on again. Dead! The light will only stay on if I apply constant pressure on the switch. I was excited to receive this product but was immediately disappointed. Product lifetime = less than one minute.

I give the product a 2nd star only because the company, Risk Racing/Striker, was willing to send me a new unit without requiring that I send back the bad one. I look forward to receiving the replacement, but even so, I have doubts about the durability of this product and its reliability in a rough environment.

I guess you can't ask for much, given the price. Honestly, it is such a unique and cool concept that I would have spent more than double the $7 I spent to own a unit that is more dependable.

The switches cand be fussy, (I own 8 of them) But they make a heck of a lot of light and the magnets are pretty darned strong. BE AWARE that if you beat them up the magnets will come off, but I work with them on an oil rig so go fugure. They are great but its best to have a few of them.

I am a bit disappointed with this LED light. First of all it is a great gift and a great novelty item. It looks like the sea mines that you see in the movies that explode when it touches the hull of sea vessels. They are supercute. I am a sucker for LEDs and magnets, and that is the main reason why I have to absolutely get it. I ordered 2 of them, one for myself and one as a future gift when I get to one of those instances when I could not think of anything to buy as a present. It is a conversation piece. I showed it to some of my co-workers and right there we spent out the window some productivity time. It attaches itself to PC towers, refrigerators, microwaves and might be nice to have when we do electrical surveys on panelboards.

The switch is tight, you have to push it carefully for fear of flipping off the plastic slider switch. It has a single white LED light. I guess it is bright, but that is subjective, I have a lot of LED gadgets around the house and I don't notice that it is very much brighter than the others.

My biggest gripe which nobody has mentioned yet in the reviews, is how to replace the batteries. As of now, I am still trying to figure out how to pry this clamshell open, this mine thingy, without blowing up on my face. There are a couple of ridges that looks like you press a penny to open it, but no success there. Neither there is any instruction in the package. It uses 3 LR44 button batteries. Made in China.

If this is purchased as a novelty it's a clever idea. However, it's the kind of item I would want to toss in a toolbox. This light is not up to that kind of treatment.

I removed mine from the packaging, turned it on and off a couple times, then used the magnet to attach it to a metal frame near my desk. After a week there I took it down to package it as part of a gift. Surprise, the magnet that was holding the light to a horizontal metal surfacestayed on the horizontal metal surface. I would seek a replacement, but I doubt it would be resolved before I need it.

Oh, and I've now seen it for almost half of this price at a local retailer. Not sure why we pay a premium here.

After reading several reviews on this product I decided to purchase this product. The Delivery was fast through Amoxon Prime! 2nd day Delivery!! Which is always a plus!! I put this light over my pool table in my Gameroom. Now because the pool table had already been installed working around it seemed a bit tough. I would say if you have basic knowledge in electricity it's an easy install! If not then an electrician is recommended. In my case I had electrician install the fixture which took 30 min tips!!! The only issue we had was the side where you run the cable through the chains up to the ceiling. We noticed it was noticeably off level!! After troubleshooting I went to my local Home Depot and grabbed some weighted washers that fit perfectly inside the opening of the light pole fixture.

As far as lighting!! I'm satisfied it lights up the whole room 20X16 I would recommend this product!! By the way the only reason I rated it 3 stars was based on the fact that I had to level out the light using materials outside of what was purchased!! Other than that a good purchase.

I bought this to use with my new 8' pool table. I've received more comments on this light than the pool table itself, which cost many thousands of dollars! When I see similar looking lights as lighting stores, they cost at least twice as much. Here are my thoughts after several months of use.

PROS

Gorgeous light fixture; the oiled rubbed bronze is classic and elegant and the glass shades provide a beautiful amber glow

Although it looks heavy, it's actually very light; perfect if you already have the table in place since it can be held up by one person easily

Very durable; the first electrician I used actually goofed and the entire fixture fell on the table 2 days later luckily there was no damage to the table or the light fixture (hired a new electrician and replaced the bulbs)

More than ample light -three 100w bulbs is very bright so I have a dimmer on the switch

Easy to adjust height by adding or removing links; the bottom of my light is exactly 32" from the table, perfect to cast light on the entire table while minimizing shadows on the balls

Incredible value at about $300

CONS

Takes a little bit of patience to get the glass shades to align

The glass shades, though durable, cannot be wiped hard or scrubbed since the "cracked" coating comes off easily (when my light fell, a chain link scuffed one of the shades so I learned the hard way)

OVERALL

I love this light fixture! If I didn't already have medallion lights in my kitchen, I would consider buying another one to put above the island. In the meantime, I'm going to soak up all the compliments this is bringing me when people see this hanging above my pool table.
