This lamp arrived quickly--it's gorgeous and quite heavy (important to me because I'm a klutz and bump things on my bedside stand). It's placed under two Japanese woodblock prints framed in black frames with silver detailing, and I wanted a lamp that would echo both the silver and some of the design in the frame--it works really well. My single criticism would be that it was a little pricey. After I purchased it I saw very inexpensive, similar lamps in big-box stores; these lamps were very light and insubstantial though and my guess is that this will last. The glaze is slightly misrepresented as 'crackled'--it's a shiny mirror glaze and the base isn't perfectly smooth but is a series of irregular concave 'paillettes' -I actually like it beter than the 'mercury glass crackle' I'd expected.

This Elvis lamp looks great the picture was exactly what I ordered. There was a problem with shipping however and I left a low rating previously which instead I should have contacted the seller. Since then I have re evaluated the situation and realize that in this case it was not the seller's fault that I received my order much later than I specified, it was the post office who messed up this delivery. I would definitely order from this company again. The product is great and my mother in law absolutely loved it!!!

I ordered these because this is the color theme in my bedroom and I thought these would make great bedside lamps. My first issue is that they didn't come with instructions, so I didn't realize right away that these are French style lamps. So to assemble this you screw the light bulb in after you have put the shade on top (flush) of the base. It doesn't give off as much light as I would have hoped. The blue shade is pretty dark. I ordered two of these, but have only put one together. The other one is still in the box, I should have returned them, but had already thrown away the main packaging it came in once I realized how to properly use the lamp. I wasn't thrilled with it, but am stuck with them now.

It seems to work OK but is advertised as an 8" plasma ball. The outside dimensions of the box are 7" and the ball itself is 7", and the box says "7 Inch Disco Fever Plasma Ball".

Nice looking. I wish it had a longer cord. It reached but I couldn't hug it to the wall

very well to hide it as the cord wasn't long enough. It was easy to set up but....it didn't

come with any directions or anything..not even an inventory of what parts I should have in the box...weird.

I had to zoom the picture of it on amazon to see how to set it up.

Beware when buying this product, I was charged twice. There should be two boxes sent with this item one for the light and one for the shades. I received only the light when I ordered, so I contacted Amazon to find out where the shades were. They said they only way for me to receive the shades was for them to send out a new order with both parts and then I would have to send back the unopened light. I agreed to this. I was then sent a box with the shades and no light. I could not therefore return the light and was charged for the additional product. Don't let this happen to you.

My original review:

I recently purchased this product and was blown away. The quality of the speaker is quite decent, the lamp is fantastic and it does not get too hot. I also found that the unit is very useful for getting organized! This fantastic lamp sells for $70 on PBteen, and only comes in two colors, but Amazon sells it for $30 and is available in many colors.

In some of the other reviews, people complained about the lamp looking cheap. I strongly disagree, in fact I think the lamp looks very handsome!! I also noticed reviews complaining the lamp didn't charge their iPod. That is true, however iHome never advertised that it would.

All in all, I think this lamp is the best thing money can buy for a desk.

Update:

Within about 2 months the lamp has completely stopped functioning. I had very high hopes for this lamp but unfortunately it has not lived up to its expectations. Quite useless after all. :(

This is a pretty good item but it could be a little louder. The color isnt exact its close though. Also if you have the 5th generation iPod nano then its not going to fit like in the picture, the right side of the iPod is going to hang off due to the relocation of the head phone hole. Also a downer for me is that it does no charge your iPod :-( tears. it barely takes up half of my night stand so its a nice size worth the money if you ask me and the free shipping got to me in 2 days.

Even though I paid attention to the stated size of these lamps, they were much bigger than I was anticipating and much too large for nightstands.

They would work for a living room. They are in fact very attractive and have a lovely deco design. The main problem was that, given that they didn't work out, I had to pay shipping in both directions -$15 to get them here and $26 to ship them back before you add on insurance and delivery confirmation which bounced it up to almost $30. I checked all the different ways to ship them and USPS was cheaper than UPS or Fed Ex. So be sure you really want something this big or you will be out $45 and have no lamps at the end of it, like me.

I bought this lamp because I thought it was so pretty and different. It was an easy assemble. I didnt realize the top petals are not glass, but like someone else mentioned I think that might be better. The leaves are glass though and the other flowers are porcelain. I love it I put it on my night table, Its very delicate looking. It has 3 settings and this little lamp at its brightest gives off some good light, but i mostly use the medium one. I'm thinking of getting another one for the other side and one for my sister for Christmas, you can't beat the price! So if you have a girly girl in your life this is the perfect gift for her!!

I bought this for my two year old daughter. It's on top of her dresser for now, but I look forward to being able to put it on a bedside table for her in the future when she gets old enough not to keep tapping it because "it's fun." :) It's interesting looking at first, but it becomes truly beautiful when lit. She really likes to look at it and it gives off enough light that she can play in her room without having to turn on the giant light in her ceiling.

Buy Adesso 3051-22 Spotlight Steel Floor Lamp with Tripod Base

The lamp needs very minor assembly which is easily done, you don't even need instructions (a good thing since I didn't get any). I wanted a floor lamp that did not have the round flat disk base that most floor lamps rest on because I'm sick of that look. So this one is at least different with its tripod legs and it is handy to move near a project needing extra light. The height of the lamp is adjustable, it's very versatile. I like that I can aim the beam at a wall to get indirect lighting in a room. But for the price, and I realize there are lamps out there costing waaaaaaaaay more than this one, but for around $75 I expected something better than what I got. I have a desk lamp that I bought many years ago at Walmart for about ten bucks and the quality far exceeds that of this floor lamp. It works and all that but it just has a sort of flimsy, cheap feel to it. The on/off knob feels flimsy as do the knobs that loosen and tighten to hold the shade at the desired angle. First try and the knobs won't turn enough, more force and you ge them loose, then to tighten you turn them, they feel tight, let go of the shade and it falls forward so more force on the cheap knobs and it stays put. If I had found this at Dollar General for ten dollars I'd be raving about it, even if I had paid $20 and I'd be happy. But no way is this lamp worth $75. Still, I'm keeping it. Update: I did discover that there was a bolt loose inside the shade and by tightening it the shade stays put better when I re-aim it.

This light burns hot. It does not have a stable base, so be sure to set it on a level surface. Of all the purchases we've made on Amazon we consider this our only mistake.

I bought this for decor in my media room. It looks great and serves its function. However, it is very cheaply made and the span of the leg base is much to narrow for the height, making it very top heavy and easy to tip over. I am fine with that since the lights are not in an area where anyone will be walking by. You get what you pay for so I can't complain.
