My wife purchased this IKEA lamp in Beijing a few years ago, and it provides a warm presence in our living room. The braided bamboo shade produces glowing light designs on the wall. Although a bulb of 75 watts can be used, this lamp is not really intended to be used as a main room light. The lamp is extremely lightweight and could easily be damaged if it was knocked down. The small base is a metallic gray, and the nearly eight foot cord is black. The switch is on the cord and is seven inches (18 centimeters) away from the base of the lamp. The lamp is approximately 16 inches in height. I do not think the lamp is worth $60 (I do not recall what we paid for it), but it is a good-lookin' and dependable lamp.

Ordered this for my guest room for the bedside table for a soft light and it is perfect. Loved the style and the price. Could have gotten at store cheaper was the only downside but I am not near a store.
