I wanted something that would go with the rustic and old fashioned look of my cabin, and this inexpensive little lamp fit the bill very nicely, even though it would aslo work well in a modern setting. It is a good size (20 inches) and has three lightness settings that don't require a switch, just a tap on the metal. I did have a little bit of trouble screwing the finial top down and gave up and let part of the threading show, but it really isn't that noticeable. Not a fancy lamp, but sleek and fairly durable seeming. Takes a small size bulb with average sized base fitting and came included with one. At the brightest setting it is light enough for reading and the dimmest is like a soft night light. There is an in between setting as well, which is the one I like for ambience.

They work fine but hood is just thin metal. If it ever hits the floor, it'll dent. It does have a good, solid, heavy base, so that shouldn't happen. It only allows for a 40-watt bulb which is not enough light to read.

Not exactly what it looks like. The shade looks cheap and you will have to tap it very vigourously to make the light come on.

The four touch switch doesn't work well. The bulb blinks continuously at low and medium lighting. I need to put it on high to keep it from blinking. I tried buying a 3-way bulb and it blinked as well. Maybe it's just a malfunction with my particular unit.
