This is a great lamp. Quality seems very good, and the base is sturdy. The paper shades for each bulb is also very nice. There's a lot of neat things you can do with this lamp to make it your own. Assembling was very easy.

The lamp post does not stand completely vertical and has a slight angle, but that could be because it's on carpet.

The lamp has 3 settings, so that you can select how many bulbs on at a time 1, 2, or all 3. Each arm can move approximately 90 degrees and each bulb end has a movable hinge that allows the bulb to tilt.

This lamp is a keeper.

This is the perfect lamp to fit behind our sectional couch. I love how the arms are adjustable. There are 3 different lightings to choose from. One bulb on, two bulbs on, or three bulbs on. It gives off a lot of light which was what we needed in our dark living room. We can read on the couch now, which is nice. It looks great too! We have gotten a lot of compliments on it. It is reasonably priced and a great quality lamp!

I put this lamp together, stood it upright, and shortly thereafter it keeled over, detaching from the base.

The lamp is over balanced because of the arching design. The base is a squared u-shape designed to offset this imbalance, but the sole attachment point is a round metal piece that is tack-welded into the main vertical tube. Bolt the vertical tube tube to the base and all the strain is on those tack welds. I can't say if it fails over time for more people, but I got about 5 minutes of vertical lamp, and up to now just horizontal lamp. I saw it starting to list to one side and when I got over to examine it, "there she goes", but -I caught it on the way down.

I have prepped all the pieces and will "J. B. Weld" it back together using that super-strong metal epoxy. I will update this review later with my results.

I hope you understand why this review is not about the color, function, or use of the lamp.

**UPDATE**UPDATE**

The lamp was successfully repaired/epoxied and has held together and worked fine. I took off the shades, went outside, and lightly spray painted the outsides in black. They are now a crinkly charcoal-looking color and most of the light streams out the top and bottom. These shades are a white, translucent TYVEK type material, so they look crinkled and will always look that way, even after hanging from the lamp structure. I now have very bright 35 watt CFL bulbs (= to 150 watt conventional) in all sockets and the light bounces off the ceiling and floods the floor without blinding everyone in the room. The switch allows one bulb on, or two other bulbs on, and finally all 3 bulbs turned on. It is as bright as the 600 watt quartz torcherie it replaced, all with only around 100 watts!

I love this lamp. It fits well with the decor of my living room. BUT.....it doesn't work right. I can only get all three bulbs or two to light up and can't get it to turn completely off so I have to reach behind my couch to plug and unplug it when I use it. I'm going to take the sections apart later and see if I can figure out what's wrong. I love it so much I will probably just deal with it if I can't make it work.
