I have to suspect that 100% of the people who buy this lamp will do so for the shade and no other reason. Given that, the quality of construction of the shade is poor. It is made of plastic. Do not let anyone try to convince you that it's some special type of magic glass that just feels lighter it's plastic. Period. The shade is also coated in a strange oily residue that's very, very difficult to clean off. It left a dark stain on my fingers as I tried to remove it.

At this price point I can't recommend the lamp. It shouldn't cost any more than $100.

This is a stunning masterpiece of ceiling art, like a laser light show in a box. First of all the outer "cage" is brillant twisted metal, which reflects and projects light beams all on it's own. Then you have the interior space which has numerous small light bulbs, and row after row of hanging/dangling crystals. I bet there is at least 100 strands or more! During the day, even unlit, it looks great, and gives off just the right sophisticated, contempory, yet dazzling display. At night, watch out, the glitz is full on. If you are looking for sulty Hollywood glamour, that doesn't look cheap, plasticky, low budget, or too contrived, this is it! It is stunning x10. A real work of art. This is not my first ET2 masterpiece, and I have to say, above all lighting I have purchased for my complete/total house makeover (bought a reno with 90% of the lights gone or not working so have had lots of lights to replace) ET2 has become my favorite manufacturer. I purchased this item because I am deployed and needed a light to turn on, in my room, when I got up to go to the bathroom. I picked this light because it was cute and different. Immediately out the box it did not work, I switched the batteries, twice, and it still did not work. I took it to work and let someone look at the electrical wiring inside the light and it was determined that everything was connected properly; it was either a bad chip board or just a dud light altogether.

It would be a waste of time, money, and effort returning it as I have already wasted two days trying to fix it. I seems that it would be a pretty good light, I am just disappointed that I wasted my money. It would be good, if the company selling the item would test it before it shipped to see if the item actually worked instead of sending bad items. Now I have to find something else and wait another 10 days or so for it to get to Iraq.

The light keeps flickering for some reason even with different batteries. The cup is cheaply made and looks very flimsy. Usability-wise, mounting the battery isn't as easy as 1-2-3... you need to use a tiny Phillips screw driver, put in 3 AAA batteries, and then nudge your way to put it in place, and finally screw it back. Overall, very disappointed with the constant flickering and the low quality. I would definitely not recommend it.

This item is not what is described in the product description. This is the multi color changing glass. I am not going to spend the shipping fess to return it because it is an xmas gift and I am not going to deal with going out to find another present. So pretty much this is not the item that is advertised and I wouldn't have baught it if I had known. If you are into the color changing then it would be cool but I just wanted the simple one and now I am stuck with the one I didn't want!

We bought these lamps a few months ago for the bedroom. They look very classy and go really well with our espresso colored furniture. It came nicely packaged and in perfect condition.

However, they are very very light weight. You could knock over a table lamp but moving your hand with very little force. Therefore, I would not recommend these lamps to be used around small children.

Other than that, great product for the price!

I have been buying these one at a time to replace CFLs and incandescents as they go out in my house. The color on these seems very accurate. They also look a lot better when turned off than most other LED bulbs. The oldest ones I have are only about 6 months old so I don't know if they will last as long as advertised yet. I would definitely recommend anyone getting away from incandescent bulbs to skip CFLs and move directly to LEDs. I am looking forward to the day when LED bulbs of this quality drop below $10 each.

This was perfect for what we needed. We use it on a large desk. The desk lamp we had was LED and way too bright, hurt the eyes. This lamp not only looks classy, but the light is fine for reading and working at night, but not blindingly light. The height is just right and the swing arm comes in very handy.

We've been using it for a couple months without problems. It is attractive and solid with a nice dull/vintage gold color. I could do without the little marble ball but it's not obtrusively tacky. We are very big on swivel arm lamps in this house of readers.

I ordered two of these for my kids' bed boards /bunk beds so they could comfortably read at night. One broke on first use and the other one week later. The switch is poorly made and if it doesn't break immediately, it will shortly. Too bad as these are a great size for kids.
