I purchased this lamp and also another one nearly like it. Both are pictured with a white lampshade. I was disappointed to see it actually has an ecru color shade which almost gives a dirty look to the shade. I kept the lamp and figured I would later purchase a white shade.

These are very nice fiber optics that you can use for all sorts of different things. They are advertised for bottles, but I plan on using mine for some different crafts. The battery base, which you can't see behind the bottle in the picture, is not very big so it can be easily concealed.

only 1 of the 3 actually works properly, the other 2 are very dim, as the batteries seem to be dead. also when opening the battery compartment, there seems to be some corrosion on the batteries themselves.

My husband surprised me with this lovely lampshade. I had been shopping on line for a large lamp shade to replace an aging stained shade. There seemed to be very few choices and I did not want real silk. Discouraged, I stopped shopping. To my amazement my husband picked this shade out all by himself (LOL). I have reviewed this lamp once and gave it three stars as it was not delivered on time for my sons birthday (he loves giraffes). I was so impressed with the company as they called and left a message the very next day saying that their customers are important and they wanted to compensate me for the delivery delay. The guy also emailed me and gave me a contact number to call which I did the next day. It was all taken care of quickly and the gentleman was very pleasant. Companies that provide this kind of customer service and a willingness to make amends to a customers full satisfaction is rare. So to my original review...the lamp is as described, priced reasonably, sturdy and was packaged well. You can touch any metal part of the lamp to turn it on and then you keep touching it as it has three brightness settings and then it goes off. My son who is ten loves it. I would recommend the lamp and more than pleased with my dealings with this company.

Mahogany base, golden lampshade, it's an amazing addition to my earth tones throughout my house. If you are the type who loves that color scheme this is a must. I was remodeling my bathrooms and chose this mirror because of the style. It looks good but the optics are not so good. Not exactly a fairground funhouse mirror, but your face (or whatever) will grow wider and narrower depending on your stance and height. At the price I would probably buy again, but that may be because this is in a guest bathroom and I never have to look at it. Silly me I thought mirrors were such old tech that you couldn't possibly screw one up, but these folks managed to.

I love the ambiance this lamp provides. I bought one for my bedside table, and came back to buy one for the other side. The only negative comment I could say is that it is very light, and I'm afraid I may knock it off the table next to my bed, I've knocked a glass of water off in the past, so I taped the wire lightly to the back of the table just to be safe. On the other hand I like the product's design; it is spectacular with its modern structure and imagery that incite the imagination.

This is the perfect lamp for my daughter's room, and suitable for her to take to college, so we won't have to buy another. It is attractive and modern, and very natural looking. I purchased a number of different LED lights to compare, including this 10.5W Philips LED. It seems like almost every LED light has some limitations and works better in certain scenarios than others. I personally found this little light to be quite versatile though. Its main limitations are:

1) It cannot be used with a dimmer. Despite what the description above says, my packaging says it is not for use with dimmers. I haven't actually tried it out with a dimmer though. Most of my lights are not on dimmer switches anyway, so this wasn't a significant limitation for me.

2) It is somewhat directional, as it directs more light away from the base and somewhat less light to the sides (though it's not as directional as some other LEDs). The directional effect is similar to lights like the LED Light Bulb, 900 Lumen, Warm White, 9 Watt (65W Replacement) by G7 Power. One thing to be mindful of is that it may look a little funny in certain scenarios (e.g. when inside of a globe fixture that you want illuminated evenly in all directions). In those types of scenarios, it may be better to go with a light like the Philips 424382 11-Watt A19 LED Household Soft White Light Bulb, Dimmable (which is a light that has neither of these limitations).

With those limitations stated, there are many things I do like about this little light.

1) It puts out a lot of light. Nevermind that it's rated at 800 lumens and the G7 9W LED is rated at 900 lumens, this light is brighter than the G7 light (at least the ones I have are). I observed this both subjectively as well as doing camera tests with both bulbs.

2) It's small and doesn't put out much heat. Many LED bulbs that I purchased are somewhat large and put out lots of heat. This is the smallest light of the 5 types that I bought and actually slightly smaller than a standard incandescent bulb.

3) It's quite efficient at 10.5W, and it has a good Color Rendering Index (rated at 80).

4) It comes on instantly when you turn on the light switch. Half the LEDs that I've purchased have about a 1/2 second delay when you turn on the light switch (which makes me second guess whether I hit the right switch sometimes), but not this one.

5) It has a 6 year warranty. Some other LED brands have much shorter warranties. If I'm paying this much for a light bulb, I want a good warranty.

6) For an LED light, it's pretty reasonably priced at this time, especially if you get the Philips 424895 10.5-watt A19 LED Household Bright White Light Bulb, 2-Pack.

Some final thoughts: This light bulb has a color temperature rating of 3000K. Incandescent bulbs are around 2700K. So, this light will look a little "whiter" than a standard incandescent bulb. Whether you like or dislike this is largely a matter of preference. I generally like the color.

I have one of these bulbs mounted pointing upward in a lamp fixture that directs light towards the ceiling in a room with tan-colored walls. Items in this room and skin tones look natural to me. I have another bulb mounted pointing downward in a ceiling globe in a room with baby blue walls. I feel like skin tones in this room look a little off to me. That's my subjective opinion though.

I generally like this light and will find uses for it in many fixtures in my house.

It worked well for over a year, but recently dimmed to less than half as much light. Phillips honored the warranty and sent us a check. They wanted the bulb back for testing.

This is my second LED bulb that I have purchase and it is great. My other is the ambientLED 8W. I just purchased this one yesterday and it is brighter than two of my CFL bulbs that I was using to light up my bedroom. They were 13W CFLs not the best but I definitely was not expecting this one 60W equivalent to be brighter than 2 60W equivalent CFLs. This is going to make it pay itself off faster for me but that is still a long time. It gives off a good bright white that is better to read or study under than CFLs. I do a lot of reading for school and my eyes don't get as tired under incandescent or LED lights as they do under CFL light. I highly recommend this light and you will be surprised at how good the light really looks.

If you live in San Diego buy at Home Depot because SDGE offsets the price.

In regards to the other review I will watch my bulb for a decrease in light output and if I notice one I will edit my review.

I replaced a couple of 75 watt floods with these in ceiling cans. Was surprised at how much brighter these were, and even more surprised that the color temperature looked as good as it did. Also swapped out a table lamp bulb, and it too, was bright with good color. Not sure what was wrong with the bulb(s) that one reviewer criticized for ugly color; skin tones look just fine with the bulbs I received. Color me happy...

I saw this 13 watt desk lamp on sale for $1.99 in my locally-owned hardware store and thought it would be a great replacement for my forty-year-old handed-down desk lamp that takes ten seconds to turn on and is ugly and dim. I was surprised when I set the new one up to see that it's pleasant-looking in a utilitarian high-tech way, with a 'frosted glass' whitish plastic shade, and a nicely weighted base. It's quite adjustable so that I could bounce light off my ceiling if I liked. It provides plenty of light for a desk lamp and turns on in less than one second. The color is fairly white. I use my desk lamp for many hours a day, so it should drop my electric bill.

If you see these this cheap, buy two! You'll find a use for them.

Would you believe the replacement bulb for this lamp actually costs more in stores than I paid for the whole lamp? A family member actually manged to break the bulb after a few days, and rather than pay for a new one, I just ordered another lamp. But we're keeping both and eventually will replace that bulb when we find it cheaper.

The lamp itself is very lightweight, quite tall for this type of lamp, so lights a wide area on desk. (By the way, it is NOT a flexible gooseneck just curved.) Has a line switch about a foot from base of lamp. The shade is translucent white, not dark as pictured. I would recommend it for anyone who needs an inexpensive utilitarian desk lamp.

I'm sure I might have noticed this if I had looked at the listing more closely, but this lamp takes an unusual light bulb. I haven't been able to find any bulbs like it in local stores, but it is available online, so it's not a big deal. The bulb should last a long time anyway. This light is perfect for my nightstand. It's not very poseable, so it might not work as well for a desk. The switch is on the cord, which is something I was trying to avoid, but I've made it work well enough anyway.
