THis is a great lamp for reading and general illumination. The height and angle adjustments, plus the ability to direct the light in different directions, make this the most versatile lamp in the house. It's solidly built, heavy, very stable -even the cats working together can't tip this puppy over. Yes, it's about twice the price I've ever paid for a lamp, but I expect it will last a lot longer. And did I say it's beautiful? Right now it's on my bedside dresser with a 100-watt-equivalent fluorescent bulb--it can reach well across the bed to light up my book. If Santa is good to me I'm getting one for my living room work spot too.

This hansome light fixture is a great match for the iron bedframe and has an added benefit of positioning the cantilever such that the light illuminates over my shoulder. This makes it great for reading. The switch is easy to find on the base even while groggy in the dark. Easy to assemble and well packed.

Very modern looking. Quite heavy, very sturdy. Lamp arm swivels side to side which is what I was looking for. Shade will tilt a bit up and down as well. If the arm would raise up and down it would be perfect... It is a little larger than I expected but I did not read the dimensions closely. I use it on bedside table and it works great for reading. On/Off switch on the base is a plus. I wish I had a place for the floor model as the design is very unique.

We love this lamp which we bought along with the matching floor lamp. The only problem was that the back arm was way longer than it needed to be and would bang on the wall if we tried to turn it. Being a handy fellow, I just took the counterweight off and cut 6" off the arm and reinstalled the weight. It works just fine and is not tippy at all. Simple fix.
