I ordered 2 lamps and was very excited about this purchase! However.... when they came they had bent sockets. One was able to be fixed . The other one was so bent you could not pull it up what so ever. I returned the lamp and wanted another one. However they did not have one!!! So they stated it would be a few weeks. Well it came and it was a smaller lamp. So I returned that one!! They told me they would refund my money and I could go to another seller. Catch... they were much higher everywhere else. So I asked them to get my lamp!!!!!! Well it came in yesterday and it was the same lamp that was bent, the one I received first. So I kept the lamp went and bought a new piece. I had to take the lamp apart and found it was broken at the top, but decided to keep because with some cosmetic covering I could use it. This set is very pretty but it was a pain to get. I feel I went to the flea market and got a fixer upper. Very disapponted in Amazon!!!!

My lamp arrived today and it is very nice, however the shade was squished and Amazon won't replace the shade without sending the whole lamp back. I don't want to deal with the whole mess, so I guess I'm out the expense of buying another shade for it. It was poorly packed and my guess is if I sent it back for a replacement, the same thing would happen again. Soooo disappointing!

Very very nice product. Quoizel packaged this lamp so that the delivery truck would have to drive over the package to damage it. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the pull chain is not well designed. The chain beads must be pulled through a small hole at an odd angle. Its hard to pull through and I'm sure will break the chain before long.

This is a heavy, well made, beautiful lamp. I expect that from Quoizel, have several throughout my house and they all are well made. This lights up beautifully, love the rich copper colors.

The only negative is the shade is pretty high so i can see the underside of the bulbs at eye level (I think i will look around for non-traditional shaped bulbs) and it lets out too much light at the bottom. BUT, i'm hoping i can solve that problem.

Quoizels are pricey, but so well made. I'm very happy with this one.

Purchased this 7 years back and it is still just as nice as when originally purchased. Accents my 9' table wonderfully and keeps my wife happy with it's cultured look while still being filled with manly colors. Provides all the light you need. Although it is undeniably pretty, this light was not nearly as big as I expected. The shade is shaped more like a plate than a bowl. It would be o.k. for a smaller area but not what I was looking for to fill the space over my dining room table. One of the amber pendants was broken when I unpacked it. I had to super glue it back together. It's a little challenging to assemble as well. I'll keep it but I wouldn't buy it again for the price.

The "arms" that you connect were not uniform, requiring some work arounds, and the end result is that all but one are crooked. It's not glaringly noticeable, and having already paid a restocking fee on a similar light that had a stripped screw hole, I just decided to make this one work. But it's disappointing to not have it be perfect.

Bought this product to spot light a painting. Installed it and the fluorescent bulb gave the painting

an awful look. Can change the bulb as a different style base that the screw type bulb. Ended up is the

storage room with all my left overs. At least if the manufacturer is going to use a different base than

commonly used for the bulb they could also include a converter or advise where to find one. Too bad as

nice looking fixture, but useless for my purpose.

My husband has cataracts, not bad enough to have surgery yet, but he needs extra light to read, and this lamp was perfect.

It was well packed, a 'box inside a box.'

The inner factory box opened to reveal the lamp parts well separated inside a partitioned styrofoam box.

There were only 4 parts: the heavy base (and it is quite heavy so the lamp won't tip), the stem, the top fixture, and the light bulb.

Installation took maybe 10 minutes tops, all you do is:

Seat the bulb in the fixture,

Connect the lower stem wire to the base wire via matching plugs

Seat the stem in the base, a firm push made it snap in tightly. There is an audible snap when it's in right.

Connect the top stem wire to the fixture wire, again matching plugs.

Snap the fixture part onto the stem, again they audibly snap into place.

Turn on the light. I did have to re-seat the bulb, evidently it was not tight enough the first time.

After that all was well, and my husband is very very happy. He loves to read.

I was concerned at first that the stem was rather lightweight and worried that it would bend, but after assembly it seems fine and I think it should hold up well.

a much more focused and localized beam than the d.light S20 solar lantern, this one is also smaller and much more compact. the solar panel/LED disc rotates easily on the spring steel legs (which can be removed easily if needed) for better charging angle or to direct the light where you want it. because there's no diffuser as on the lantern, this does not light a room as much as it provides focused light for reading or working. charges easily almost anywhere under any kind of light.

You CANNOT go wrong with these little guys. They weigh nothing, they kick off a good, bright focused light, hence, the name Task light. It's perfect. I have three and will most definitely buy more. I tell everyone about them. The S2 comes with a usb cord, which is nice as a back up for power on a rainy day. My home was without power for almost a week during H. Sandy last year. We had Mr. Beams lights in our house (which I also love & highly recommend) during that time; they were are HUGE help, but these compliment those. At $13.95, you will be pleased. And the fact that part of the proceeds go toward helping families with lighting their homes in third world counties is fantastic.

Wonderful light. Great for camping and indoors alike. Our young children have adopted this light as their reading lights as it's quite bright and no heat. Then for camping, they do as well as a gas lantern ( ok, not as bright but for the price, just get multiple ). I love the fact it charges in indirect light which is a plus for areas with lot's of trees.

These lights are fantastic. They put out a decent light that you can read by. You can hang them on things or set them down on a flat surface. They don't take long to charge. AND they don't cost much.

I bought a couple of them and liked them so much that I bought five more for myself and three more for a friend. And I still like them so much that I'm thinking of buying some more I don't know why since I've already got so many. But when something provides such a great value, I just feel like I can't resist!

I'm thinking maybe I should have a couple in each of my vehicles sure, they're not meant for that, but I could maybe hang them from the visors to stay charged. They're just so reliable and put out so much light for what they are that I just gotta have more of them!

On a forum I learned of the d.light S2. I have been using another brand of solar task light, and wanted to try the d.light. The d.light fills its purpose well. Plenty of task light, also plenty of light to brighten a room well above night light level. The stand works well to allow the light to be directed where desired. It's been cloudy and rainy since I bought the d.light, so I haven't determined how long it takes to give the battery a good charge. The battery came charged and I used the light at least 4 hours the first time and the battery did not run down. Being able to charge from a USB port is an advantage but also defeats the purpose of a solar rechargeable light. The lithium battery should last a very long time and while technically not replaceable, a handy person could install a new battery. I recommend the d.light S2 for its purpose, and a person who would buy the light for this purpose also likely will find many other useful applications for the d.light. For myself, I'm on a mission to reduce grid power usage to a minimum, so I also use solar rechargeable lights for general room lighting when bright light is not needed.

We like this lamp a lot.

I like the glow the blue glass shade gives.

It was easy to put together and all the parts were there.

The only con that I can say is the on and off switch is on the floor. I like the switch to be near the bulb. But for some people being on the floor might not be a problem.

You do need to tighten the bolt in order to move the position of the lamp. Just a heads up on that. It doesn't bother me to do that though.

The product is very poorly constructed. Held together with many minute set screws, and it came with broken parts. When I complained, they refused to take it back. Believe it or not, they even asked me to send the picture of broken parts.
