Product received promptly and as advertized. Well packed, no breakage, and all items tested and functional. Glass to metal bond seems a little weak, as typical of current imports, be careful not to twist the base off when inserting in light socket. During the six months since delivery, we have found the average "socket life" of these bulbs to be slightly less than 30 days. Down grade my review to "two stars".

Since 100 watt bulbs are no longer made, and these bulbs will be made forever, I bought some light dimmers and replace the old light socket with dimmers and now use these 150 watt bulbs. Much better than a 3-way bulb. (purchased Jan. 2013) They work great except the bulb is slightly bigger than the 100 watt bulb. Because of this, one of my lights could not be updated with the dimmer / 150 watt bulb combination. The lamp would not clear the bracket that holds the shade. The bulbs were well packed in their own brown cardboard box inside the shipping box. The dimmer I used is: "Leviton 6151 Incandescent Lamp holder Socket Dimmer". You should be able to find this local for under $10.

A couple of broken ones on arrival, and they don't last very long; not worth it. You'll do better getting them from the grocery store as you need them or stocking up at Home Depot, if you don't mind the storage space they'll need.

Light arrived a couple of days ago. It looked complicated..as to mounting. It was. It so happened that I was having some other electrical work done. In their off-time, they agreed to mount fixture. Now we are talking about licensed electrician's. It took the worker about an hour to complete.

Today..I painted out the removed ugly fluorescent..the end result is wonderful ..mounted just above a very small dining table. The recommended 100-watt bulb would be overwhelming. Have a 60-watt and still too bright. 40-watt bulb is on order. Even then..a dimmer would be something to keep in mind. One other notation is fixtures bottom trim ring...the only thing holding it in place is gravity. A clip would be recommended.

Otherwise..a beautiful lighting fixture that is going to give pleasure for a long time.

Really fantastic. Very classy looking. The parts are well made and sturdy. I was so happy with this I ordered a second one and then tried to order a third one and found out they have been discontinued by the manufacturer. I ordered a similar product from the same manufacturer through amazon and the parts have been replaced by cheaper parts and you get less chain and no frills.

Its a nice little lamp for the cost. Comes with a very long chain I'd say 7-8 ft. Also includes a matching cover that goes over the electrical box in the ceiling that the lamp hangs from. The wire is the same as you'd find in a modern exstension cord and i actually put a plug on the end of it and have it plugged into the wall. They include even more wire than chain so I didn't have to add any cord. Also note that the brown parts of the lamp are actually metal not wood as they appear but looks very realistic.

The only thing i didn't like about the light is the brown ring on the bottom of the glass is seperate. It just sits in place and took me awhile to get it perfectly straight.

I purchased two of these lamps for a bedroom. The lamps arrived sooner than promised, well packed and sent via FedX. The lamps are beautiful. I'm very happy with them, however, I agree with the other reviewers regarding the shades. The ones that came with the lamps look cheap. I changed out the shades and am now completely happy with my purchase. The blue color is lighter than pictured, which I like as it makes the lamp look more expensive.

It isn't as nice as I hoped, but the price is pretty moderate, too. I am a sucker for blue and white procelain ware, although the quality is close to stoneware on this one. It is full size, takes up to a 150 watt bulb, but is not a three-way switch type. I may replace the shade, it is pretty average looking and a better looking shade would make a real difference. It works perfectly for where I needed it. It shipped and delivered promptly and was undamaged. You can take it right out of the box and use it, so overall, I would recommend it. It is a very good price for what it is.

Loved these lamps.

They were even nicer than expected with one exception....the shades. The shades are too stark white and cast a very cold light. I prefer a softer glow than these shades give. I liked the lamps too much to return them for that reason alone, so I exchanged the shades with the lamps I had been using in that room since they cast a warmer light. I would definitely recommend these beautiful lamps, especially to anyone who has other blue and white deco items to compliment.

They arrived even sooner then expected and were packed extremely well.

The description of this item has changed a few times, and some of the reviews appear to be for different lamps. I ordered and received a 90 LED lamp from ProMagnify and it's better than I expected at this price.

The lens is indeed glass and the optical distortion at the correct working distance (about 5-8 inches) is minimal even towards the edges. If you try to view something from too far away, then there's more distortion, but that's normal.

The box indicates this lamp comes in both a 3 diopter (1.75X) and 5 diopter (2.25X) version. Mine is the 5 diopter. The 3 diopter version would let you view things from farther away (10-13 inches) while a 5 diopter lamp is best for really fine work with small objects.

The 90 LEDs are not as bright as similar fluorescent lamps but they're plenty bright for close viewing at the correct distance. And unlike flourescent lamps, they run cool, there's no flicker, buzzing, etc. If you intend to use this as a general desk lamp with it high above your desk, however, don't expect 60 watts worth of incandescent light like you'd get from even a 13 watt flourescent. I'd say it's closer to half that.

The color of the light is "cool" but not overly blue like some LED lights can be. It's similar to a 3500K 4000K flourescent (i.e. "cool white"). Working with the magnifier it's about the perfect amount of light and uniform with no shadows.

There's a power supply for the LEDs built into the "ring" around the lens near the on/off switch and that area runs a bit warm after its been on a while but far from being hot. The LED's, however, will likely far outlast the switching power supply.

My only real complaints are the lens is a bit loose and moves around (but it's in no danger of falling out), you have to really tighten the clamp at the head to keep it from "drooping" down under its own weight, and I'm a bit concerned the "ball socket" at the head that lets you pivot the lamp/lens might loosen up someday and not hold its setting. But those are, so far, minor complaints. It's mostly well designed and made.

Overall, it works well. And considering it costs *less* than a lot of fluorescent magnifier lamps of this size with decent lenses, it's a relative bargain.

Even though I'm a long time Amazon customer who has never had to return a purchase, I was really worried about ordering this product. The info from the web site is confusing and some reviews didn't help my confidence.

Product pictures do not always match product description. There were questions as to whether this was really an LED light, 90 or 48 bulbs, one or two switches.

Despite all this I placed an order and this is what I received:

This is an LED light. There are 90 bulbs arranged in two circles. There is one switch. The light output is terrific; better than expected. The head pivots on a ball joint and I don't see an adjustment. Time will tell if this joint stays tight. Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase!

I am an EE and this lamp has become a very nice addition to my Lab. I used headband magnifiers in the past but I really never liked them. This 90 LED model offers so much light that it makes it a breeze to see SMD parts, traces and read part numbers. It would be nice if the magnification was a bit higher but it's good enough that I can solder in SMD parts with very little problem and it's very easy to inspect solder work because of the good optics and intense light. Probably the most important consideration when purchasing a lamp like this for EE work is that you have enough space between the solder point and the lens, in the case of this Lamp I get 6" of clearance which is more than adequate amount of space and at the same time given a standard desk height it makes for a lot less neck bending so overall it's very comfortable to do 2-4 hour soldering stints with this lamp. Another important aspect is that you want the lamp to be stable and stays were you put it and in that regard it works perfectly.

I highly recommend the unit, just make sure you get the 90 led version and not the 60.

This item was purchased to replace a fluorescent ring light/magnifier that had seen better days. I was concerned that wouldn't be as bright as other one and was pleasantly surprised. It is as bright, and I like the instant on when you press the switch, and the compactness that you get without the fluorescent tube. It is easy to use and place where it is needed. Highly recommended. I have had it for about a month, am hopeful it lasts as long as the previous light (several years), but we'll have to see.

We found these LEDs to be great light-producers from very little power. They would run for two or more days on a single hearing-aid sized battery, and made great "fireflies" inside glass jars for table centers at a wedding reception. I'm sure they would be great for demonstrations in school science classes, or for building all sorts of novel little electrical gizmos. Example: headlights on a small robotic toy. A plentiful supply is given for a great price too!

The photo does not do this lampshade justice. It is very pretty and a much nicer, soft golden cream color. The over-draping is very soft-looking and is beautiful accent.
