It would have been a really great lamp. I assembled it as stated and a piece of hardware where the shade attaches to the base is crooked. It's ashame. I had to rig it up with paper to hold the shade straight. My fiancé could weld it to fix it....but really? You shouldn't have to do that! I paid for a straight lamp so I am kind of pissed.

We bought a standard ballast floor lamp and this bulb to replace our scary fire-hazard halogen floor lamp. Easily lights our 12'x20' room. Been using for well over a year and still going strong.

If you have a table lamp that can accomodate this type of bulb, this is a much better reading light than the 200 watt equivalent CFL's, It give a bright, uniform, diffuse light. The only problem is getting replacement bulbs when the original circle line bulbs die, but they usually have a 2 or 3 year life.

other than while. additionally, the bulb is visible from every angle, the delicate white fabric and the thick black trim don't complement each other, the bulb (used short round 45W) is visible from all angles. in my opinion, the lamp looks "cheezy" and i returned it. the seller was very gracious and easy to deal with. again, if the leaves were in a colorful fabric the lamp might be beautiful.

It's not exactly easy to tell the various lava lamp suppliers apart--they all claim to be "the" only authentic high-quality purveyor out there--but Amazon should move on from whoever is selling them their lava lamps at the moment. I'm looking at my second consecutive opaque red lava lamp as I type this. There's almost certainly some wax melting in there, but it's not as though I can see it.

Lava lamps being cloudy right out of the box is an either/or thing, so if you get lucky and the "clear" liquid is even remotely clear, I'm sure it's a fine lamp. But the odds aren't great, as you can tell if you look for the word "cloudy" in these other reviews.

I ordered one black/clear and one orange/clear Lava Lite. The liquid was foggy, almost milky. I tried running them to see if that would solve the problem and it didn't so off they went back to Amazon for replacement. The replacements were also foggy. I called Lava Lite and was told that if the weather is hot when the lamp is in transit, the temperature inside the truck can be much hotter and the wax can melt. If it does, and the truck shakes the bottle, the ingredients get mixed, causing a cloudy lamp. The problem is worse in lamps with clear liquid. They suggested that I wait until late September or October to order.

I see a lot of bad reviews for these little guys. I picked one up, as did my friend at the same time from a local store. It took a while to get going the first time about 4 or 5 hours where the wax just looked like an egg on the bottom of the lamp, when I looked online on how I could help the situation.

From their website, it says to, using oven gloves or some hand towels as to not burn your hands, pick up the glass part of the lava lamp from the base AFTER it's been on for a few hours (still hot) and place it on a flat, even surface and gently spin it, which will let the wax settle onto the metal coil on the bottom and return it to it's base. Never shake it either, or you'll mix the water and the wax and it will get cloudy.

After I did that, an hour or two later, I had a fantastic lava lamp in my favorite color. Now it usually takes two hours to heat up and start the show. The safety slip that came with it also says that you should not run it more than eight hours which is a little disappointing when you want an always-on lava lamp.

Overall, the price, size and colors make this one of my favorite objects to stare at on my desk as long as you don't get a dud.

After purchasing two "old" lava lamps from the 1990s, I saw that my local hardware store had these on sale for $10. I knew that LavaWorld outsourced their entire lamp production to China in the early 2000s and quality had suffered since, but I thought I might get lucky and get a good one. No such luck. I took the lamp out of the box, put the globe on top of the vase and turned it on. Immediately, I could see some sort of flaky stuff in the liquid. No idea what that was. I left it on for about two hours and the lava just sat there in a huge blob at the bottom of the globe. Two more hours passed same thing. The lava never "took off" and appeared to be partially separated from the heating coil. I noticed that these lamps run on a small 25W bulb and my lamps from the 90s run on 40W bulbs. D

I have two lava lamps from the 1990s (Lava Lite) and they flow beautifully. It's really obvious from the moment you take these news ones out that quality has suffered. I would under no circumstances buy a new lamp from LavaWorld. If you're really interested in owning a beautiful, functioning lamp, do some research online and learn about which ones are good quality. My advice: get one from the 90s or earlier. Don't believe me? Read the reviews of LavaWorld lamps on here and you'll find all you need.

This lamp is being returned tomorrow.

I had bought another lava lamp from Amazon, and this one seemed like a wonderful addition......sadly there are just two blobs of wax on at the top and one at the bottom sitting there. This was a waste of money alright.

I've owned this fan for about 2 years, and I've always loved it's "Tim Burtonesque" look. But it's SO much more-it moves air throughout my living room better than any floor fan I've owned. Yes-it's a table top fan, but it circulates the air SO well, is quiet, and STUNNING in a living room. If used on a desk-it's specifically designed NOT to blow papers and such around the room. And we've tried-with stacks of loose papers. It's not designed to totally cool a room-but to keep a cool breeze moving. I absolutely love it-Fanimation has some of the most beautiful and functional fan designs around. They're not inexpensive, but they are WELL worth the money.

I can't complain. I got what I paid for and then some. The display screen is small, but perfect for my desk. Instead of cluttering it up with numerous pics to keep me in my happy spot I now have a desk lamp with what's now dubbed as my happy little secret. I've filled a SD card with joyous pictures and memories to help me escape my workplace woes. I'm not technically inclined so the easy set up was a huge bonus. The lamp is funky at times because after months and months of owning it, I'm still not used to LED light vs standard light bulb light. This is compact and a space saver.
