This is a really good lamp for the money. It is very solid and well-built with a heavy base. The color is described as Dark Bronze, but it is pretty close to black with a matte finish which I like. It uses low-energy Compact Fluorescent Bulbs that last forever and cost very little to run it even comes with one! I was so impressed with it that I grabbed my video camera and shot a quick video of it so you can see it better (the photo in the description makes it hard to make a decision about this lamp.)

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program GMR gives this lamp five stars -he uses it down in his office where he draws, paints, and makes these blueprint house plans that look like lots of squiggly and squarey lines to my pea-headed brain that likes things in 3D but are quite beautiful, and he tells me the light from the lamp is more than adequate for his needs, without being glaring.

The lamp is solid in a good substantial way, and not cheaply made for a lamp of this cost. As well, previously, GMR bought 2 other lamps that just did not do the job -he's not complained once about the Normande HS3.

It is well-constructed and the look fits in with his office--a nice looking lamp.

There's nothing worse than a lamp that you set where you want it, and it continually falls down--this one stays put where it's set.

For the price, this is a winner . . . and I mean the price you buy it, not the "Amazon Vine Free Price" laugh though that's a great thing, too.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Nice table or night stand lamp. Sturdy and adjustable neck. Black color with rubbed finish to look worn/antique-ish. Came in a generic ratty card board box though. It was securely packaged with Styrofoam and wasn't damaged. But definitely could not be a gift if it comes in an unmarked brown box with holes in it. Know what I mean? If you're buying for yourself, I highly recommend. I will post some picture, too.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Normande Lighting Compact Fluorescent Table Lamp is a very nice lamp that works well for your desk. It was very simple, fast, and easy to put together. You will not even need directions to assemble the lamp. Aspects of the lamp that I like include:

+ High quality lamp at a very reasonable price

+ Puts out a great amount of light

+ Strong and rugged

+ Aesthetic design that is stylish

+ Does not put out a lot of heat

+ Adjustable

+ Functional

+ Comes with a fluorescent energy saving bulb

I use the Normande Fluorescent Table Lamp on my work desk in my man cave. It provides an excellent amount of light without being overpowering and without putting out a lot of heat. Adjusting the lamp is easy and it is very well built. This does not look or feel like a cheap lamp. I have had numerous friends, both men and women, comment about the lamp and its rugged yet stylish design. This is a lamp that will last for years.

I highly recommend the Normande Fluorescent Table Lamp.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This an excellent table lamp: easy-to-assemble right out of the box (I didn't even have to look at the instructions), with a hefty base and it even comes with one of those new fancy-pants light bulbs that cost a fortune. At $44.00, it's a great value for the money. There are two places where the angle and height of the lamp can be adjusted and in both places there are knobs to tighten so that it stays where you put it. (I like that, because in moveable lamps without a tightening feature, the adjustments invariably slip over time as the lamps joints become looser.)

It comes with a 13 watt flourescent energy saving bulb, which is nice, because those things last forever and are a bit costly. It was somewhat dubious at first about the bulb, because they don't seem to produce much light, but this one lights up quite well. I'm using the lamp in my bedroom, and it really lights up my bedside quite well for reading.

This lamp has some heft to it: it weighs in at 6.6 pounds. This pleases me enormously because I have 4 six-month-old kittens that spend most of their time in my bedroom, knocking over everything they can get their paws on. They've trashed the place like rock stars on a three week binge, but they haven't been able to knock this lamp over. Awesome!

The overall aesthetic seems to have a slight steampunk feel to it, which I rather like. But even if you aren't into the steampunk look, this is a good-looking lamp. The photo on this webpage doesn't really do this lamp justice.

This is a good-looking addition to my bedroom.
