We ordered 2 of these lamps, the shipping speed and shipping packaging were very good. We set up and plugged in the first lamp and it worked as advertised. It is a very nice lamp.
We opened the package for the second lamp and one of the glass panels that goes in the lampshade was shattered....returned it to Amazon and asked for a replacement. Amazon sent it with one day shiping. We set up replacement #1, plugged it in, tested it, everything worked fine.....not exactly. After it was plugged in for about 5 minutes, we realized it was posessed because it started turning itself on and off rapidly. We unplugged it a couple of times, moved it to different location.....still had a life of it's own......So we returned it and asked for another replacement.
We received the same excellent replacement service for replacement #2, opened the box, inspected, and found one of the wires that hold a glass panel on the shade is broken. We have given up and have returned the lamp and asked for a refund. We really like the look and operation of the first lamp , but figured having two of them was not meant to be!

I thought it would be a little bigger, and I didn't realize assembly was required. If choosing again I might select a different model. However (where IS the comma on this Kindle Fire?) We like it well enough that we bought its mate for the other nightstand. For a lamp you may need in the middle of the night the "touch" feature is highly recommended.Edit: I bought this item twice, once thru Amazon.com and once thru PERFECT HOME STATION. The latter vendor offended me by emailing me four times and phonlng me once, to try to get me to change my seller feedback, offering me 10% back as an incentive. I had rated them 3 out of 5 stars and left comment "Acceptable service" but their delivery was in fact a little slow (but acceptable). Do not patronize this vendor! I was particularly angry that they used my phone number, not to ensure better service but to try to bribe me for a better rating. I don't think that's an approved use in Amazon's Terms of Service or privacy policy!

I've been searching for a touch lamp to replace one I already had which broke. They are perfect bedside lamps so you don't have to find the switch in the dark. I wish there had been more style options available through Amazon offering free shipping. I bought this for my Mother who is elderly and has arthritis that has caused her fingers to become deformed. She loves that she can just touch the base of the lamp with her knuckle to turn it on and off since it is very diffucult for her to turn the small knobs of regular lamps. The lamp has three intensity settings, with the brightest at 40 watts. She also likes the look of the lamp, she has it placed on the end table by her chair. This lamp is perfect for what I needed. Use it as night light in bathroom. Also bought one to use at backdoor. I have no wall switch there. This lamp is perfect as I just have to touch it to light my roomUpdate
After about a year use both lamps are now defective. The only way to turn one them off is to unplug it. The other wont come on at all. I would give them one star mow
