We are very happy with this product. It is contemporary in style and is ideal for placement between two chairs. The brass finish is smooth and unmarked. My only concern is for the heat the halogen bulbs throw off and that is not the fault of the product. I would recommend this lamp for anyone who has need of good lighting by which to read or do needlework.

Lamp arrived on time, was well packaged and undamaged. No assembly was required. The lamp is well made with a heavy base, so it stays put. We use it between two chairs and the height adjustments and swing arms make it easy to aim the light where you want. The light intensity is adjustable, which is a very handy feature.

This lamp is sturdy and well made. All of the adjustable features work well. The dimmer is an extra nice touch. As mentioned in other reviews the hood of the lamp does get hot. The only assembly needed was taking the protective covering off the lamp!

Extremely versatile: two sides independently-adjustable for height and swing arm

placement, with the latter allowing for multiple angles horizontally, and side-to-sidetilt.

All of that allows not only for very versatile positioning of light, but also several different "looks."

(I think it could go with :"modern" or various "not-so-Modern.")

Controls--one for each side-are in easy reach, feel very solid, and turn smoothly from "off" thru dim to brighter (with no

flimsy push button to wear out).

Finish is very smooth and attractive.

(Can tell I like this lamp a lot and have a couple of them--but the price has gone up since I bought the

first one a few years ago, and is now more pricey, like over $200.)

I was worried, that the lamp was damaged, because when it was delivered, the box was very badly damaged and looked horrible. I was afraid to open the package. However the packing inside was secure and the lamp was in perfect shape and the lamp is exactly I we wanted.
