Just received this lamp today. Unfortunately it isn't what I expected. When looking at this lamp on other websites it was described as having flexible arms so that you can direct the light exactly where you need it. Based on that description I purchased the lamp. Well it doesn't have flexible arms and cannot be used as a funtional source of bright light. It seems as if the mfrs do not make lamps with flexible arms and sufficient light as they did a few years ago. The lamp is pretty when it is on but serves absolutely no purpose other then looking pretty. The lights are directed towards the ceiling and the shades are amber and white which makes it that much more non functional. If you are looking for a lamp that gives off enough light to allow you to see what you are doing while reading etc.,this lamp is not for you. Very romantic lighting, but not what I expected. Despite all my negative comments, I am keeping it. I put it in a spot that does not require a bright light. I consider it a decorative item such as you would consider a vase or other object that is placed on a table to be used as an accent piece. Pretty to look at but that's about it.
