My 10 year old son loves this lamp. It's small and as per the description, it's an accent lamp. In no way you can read a book with this light but it adds wonderment to a room. It gives that cool ambiance in a kid's room. You can leave it on as a night light or you can turn it on along with the other lamps in the room and create a color variations. My son's other bigger lamps are color yellow. They really compliment each other. I like the steel base, it's sturdy. The shade is plastic but doesn't look cheap. The small bulb is also provided so it's ready to go once you put it all together. I think the price is just right. If only they made this just a little bigger, I would give this a 5 star.
