I did not do my homework and ask questions because I needed it quickly.......Every light fixture I've bought was ready to hang-this was NOT. They supplied the WRONG PARTS LIST-(it was for a flush mounted ceiling light!), so we had no idea (being we are not electricians) if all the parts were in the box or not. And sure enough the MOST IMPORTANT PART to keep this light hanging was MISSING! So luckily my brother was ingenious and we had to take the part from the old fixture-paint it black (because it was brushed nickle!) and use it. Once the light was hung the rim that sits on top of the light was totally uneven, so again thank goodness I have a terrific, smart brother, he had to put a wedge inside the fixture between the shade and the socket. What an ordeal! So beware if you are NOT HANDY and do not have a brother like mine, you might want to contact the sellers to see if their fixtures are already assembled, because it could be a nightmare for you if they are not! I like the light~ I like the way it looks over my table BUT for an un-assembled fixture the price was a bit too high for me, but it is what it is!
