Got mine for Xmas '12. Looked great, put it in the back seat to take to work. Put some light things next to the lamp and never thought they were any risk to it. Went to pick it up and the middle joint was broken like another user reported. While the shaft of the lamp appears to be substantial the load bearing component is a coaxial connector made of plastic and about 7mm in diameter (about like a soda straw). I thought I'd just order another one and not tell the wife. At nearly $200 I'm having second thoughts. The problem is one of design. A coaxial connector made of metal would have been substantial enough to absorb a little rough use. In lieu of having the proper materials the least they could do is to make the part easy for the user to replace. Pixo did neither.

The pixo lamp is compact and offers a nice bright clean light. The design is a bit awkward in that the dimmer/on/off switch is at the top and you have to firmly pinch it to make it work. Should you inadvertently topple the lamp the plastic piece at the center can crack or break quite easily and that piece does not seem to be available, so the lamp is unfixable.

If you are looking for a great lamp to put by your desktop computer screen at home you will LOVE this lamp! My home office does not have the best lighting and sometimes I work on my computer in the late evening it never seems like I had enough light to really see the keyboard well, etc. This lamp is so perfect it is the perfect heighth and does not take up very much room. It angles anyway you want it plus the design is just so attractive minimalistic and sleek.

PIXO is a great little lamp. The warm light produced by this lamp is very pleasing, not cold like some LED products can be. The handy USB port charges both iPod & iPad. Pablo does a great job in this design and execution of his products. Enjoy.

Very unique and creative design. Unlike any lamp I've seen before. Read other reviews that say it's fragile but that may be if you buy the cheap Chinese knock-off. If you want it to last; buy the one made for DWR.
