I used these to replace the bulbs in my bathroom where I do my hair and makeup. The difference in light quality is stunning! If it really lasts two years I will be very happy as we have over 11 foot ceilings and changing the bulbs is quite a chore.
I've tried all types of LED and CFL to try to be more energy efficient but even the most expensive LED gave off dim, strange light so I've been using the GE Reveals instead at least if I'm going to use incandescent it should be the best quality, I figured. But these are even better quality than the regular Incandescent Reveal bulbs.
We pay extra for renewable energy from ConEd (hydro & wind) so hopefully that offsets the fact that I can't tolerate the light quality of a more energy efficient bulb.

My kitchen demands 75 watt bulbs ( 10) and my eyes prefer the Reveal but the regular Reveal 75 watt just blew out monthly it seemed which was costly and a PIA to change... Have tried a bunch of the new bulbs and the colors are crummy so I thought to try this one despite the ludicrous price.HAve to admit.. totally a great bulb, very long lasting ( 4 months later still working) great Reveal color.. just wish the pricing was better GE cause I think this scares people away from trying.
Update: Ok so the two I have installed last Feb are still going strong while the other kitchen lights I am using the plain 75 wtt Reveals have blown out at least 4 times so far. Am using up the last of my old fashioned 75 wt and then will replace with these but again.. GE you need to improve the costs..

I really like the quality of the light from these bulbs but they have two flaws. The first is that they are physically fragile. Of the four I ordered, one arrived broken even though they were individually VERY well bubble wrapped by Amazon. If you look closely at the picture, you can see a large glass rod in the middle of the bulb. This had become detached in the broken unit, and was rattling around inside. Amazon quickly replaced it with no hassle, but I can see that there is an inherent problem with shipping these.The second flaw is more minor, at least in my application. That glass rod in the middle of the bulb throws a shadow. In my ceiling fixture that's not a big deal, but I can see if you have something like a table lamp that you can't rotate to put the slight shadow in back, it might be irritating.
Of the four installed bulbs, one lasted less than two weeks. Even without any concrete proof, I have to attribute this to a physical issue caused by transportation. These could end up being very expensive lighting for me.
UPDATE 02/21/2013
The second bulb burned out today. That leaves two of four bulbs working after about three weeks. When I'd lost one of four as described above I'd actually considered replacing it because the color of the light is so nice. But with a 50% failure rate, I guess I'll give up on these.
