Absolutely love this lamp, and looking at it right now as it sits on my office desk. I decked my office out in London theme, and this lamp fits perfectly with soothing lighting.

Looking at the picture, it seems as though the lamp shade isn't that tall in comparison to the base. (Or at least about the same length). However, the lampshade is very large in comparison...it swamped the base. Also, the back of the lamp is quite ugly. The flag tapers off into a gradient and then it has a stripe of white down the middle. I would have returned it because it would have looked horrible in my office. However, my son saw it and liked it, so I gave it to him instead.
