These lamps look great but are not meant for providing light. Recommend using as decor only. The light provided is very yellow so makes reading under the lamp tough.

This lamp looks nice, but creates a very dim and quite yellow/orange light. I have it behind a couch against a wall, so I'm not worried about it tipping it over, but I woudn't keep it any place where small children could get to it or it could be knocked over easily. I rate it 3 stars for it's over all quality for the price ($100) -it would be both stylish and more practical if the glass weren't quite so dark though. I don't dislike it enough to go through the bother of sending it back, but will probably relegate it to a corner somewhere once I find a different lamp that actually provides significant light.
