While true outdoor lamps designed for a damp installation environment seem fairly pricey to me, this lamp costs less than most but doesn't sacrifice quality. The heavy-duty wiring, glass bulb enclosure and rubber-sheathed switch provide a reassuring degree of safety. The weighted base is truly heavy it would take a gust over 40 mph to tip it. Unlike some outdoor lamps that limit you to 40 or 60 watts, this one is rated for 100. The rectangular lamp shade (which is a bit darker than it appears in the online image) is thick and sturdy. The slate finish looks good and would compliment almost any outdoor room. Needless to say, we're very happy with this purchase.

I purchased this lamp for my patio. The lamp base is heavy so it does not blow over. The colors are neutral and went perfectly with my outdoor furniture. Also, alot cheaper than other outdoor lamps that I have looked at.
