Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Normande Lighting AM3-624A desk lamp is a classical desk lamp similar to what you used to find in most offices in the mid 1900s. The manufacturer calls it a "banker's lamp" and I do recall seeing lamps like this on the desks of bank employees at the bank where my parents did business when I was a child. That said, you certainly don't need to be a banker to have this on your desk.

I decided to get this desk lamp for my office desk but after unpacking it from the Styrofoam (I hate Styrofoam) it suddenly dawned on me (thanks to my wife) that this lamp is absolutely perfect for use as a piano lamp so you can read sheet music while playing. We've been needing a piano lamp ever since we purchased our piano and this Normande lamp is the ideal solution.

The lamp comes with a free fluorescent bulb and it's easy to replace the bulb when needed. As mentioned previously, it's packed well to prevent breakage during shipping but the packaging is Styrofoam which breaks easily when you open the box and leaves those little white pieces of Styrofoam around your house. In any case, I would highly recommend this lamp for anyone who likes this style of desk lamp or someone who needs a piano lamp.

The picture shows it to be more of a distressed bronze, but it is a brass finish all the way.

Lamp is nice, but arrived with a small chip on the edge of the glass. Also, they was a tiny bubble in the glass that was clearly part of the production process.

The lamp is solid and looks nice. Just did not like those two flaws.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I love lighting. We have some antique lamps, and some replicas. This item fits right in. It's solid, elegant and well made. Even the chain fob is weighty, lending substance to the experience of turning it on. The shade is glass. And the lamp even comes with a soft-spectrum energy-saving bulb packaged saying it will save $52 over its lifetime. While the lamp needs simple assembly, no tools are required. I like it!

I love the look of this lamp. It's perfect for my little vanity table. Seems well made, and I like the real glass shade. The only downside is the angle of the light can be a little weird, but you can move the shade around however you'd like.
