Overall I'm happy with this purchase.
What I didn't like:
1) There are a couple of places on the base where the black paint was rubbed off a bit, enough to see some of the underlying silver metal color a little. It's not too noticeable but Ledu needs to have better quality control. The rest of the lamp has no such flaws.
2) There are no instructions to attach the bulb cover to the lamp and the solution isn't obvious. If you look closely enough you'll see three very subtle grooves in the cover that match to three pins in the lamp. You can basically screw the cover into the lamp (turning it clockwise) but it might take you a few tries because it's not as easy as screwing in a light bulb for example.
3) In the past I've used much bigger swing-arm lamps and remember them being very easy to orient into all positions with just one hand. This lamp isn't one of those. While the joints aren't incredibly stiff, the problem is that the base wants to tip so you're fighting that a bit while positioning. When raising the lamp as high as it will go, two hands (one holding the base) are pretty much required. I haven't had the lamp very long so maybe it'll loosen up.
There are also knobs you can tighten at each joint if you have the opposite problem.
The top part (where the bulb is) is much easier to position with one hand and that's probably the only thing I'll need to adjust on a regular basis.
4) Considering the previous points and the size of the lamp, I also think this lamp is overpriced. Unfortunately I couldn't find a cheaper one that I liked.
Other notes:
1) Inside the bulb cover it warns about too much heat if you use anything greater than a 13-watt CFL bulb. Maybe that's just to protect themselves from lawsuits. The socket also accepts regular incandescent bulbs.
I found that the included 13-watt CFL bulb (60-watt equivalent) was more than enough for a desk. In fact I'm going to buy something in the 1 to 5-watt range because I keep the room and screen quite dark and I don't want the lamp to overpower things or cause glare on the screen.
2) The black parts of the lamp are truly black. The product picture on this webpage makes it look like dark gray.
3) The maximum vertical reach from the bottom of the bulb to the desk is about 15". The misleading 22" claim in the advertising is from the top of the lamp to the desk.
4) The maximum horizontal reach from the center of the base to the center of the bulb is about 11.5". The base itself is about 6" in diameter.
I keep the lamp on the front edge of my desk so the limited reach isn't a problem for me.

I needed a lamp to fit in my new computer desk hutch, so it couldn't be too tall, but I wanted more adjustability and a heavier base than the usual cheapo gooseneck. This fits the bill nicely but it is a little pricey (why I only gave 4 stars). I use a CFL bulb (energy savings!) with it. The only thing that would make it better is if they included a power outlet in the base.Best Deals for Ledu L423MB Knight Incandescent Swing Arm Desk Lamp, 22 Reach
I bought this lamp because my halogen lamp put out so much heat, it was nearly unusable. I wanted something that I could put a CF bulb into to save on heat production (and energy usage). The price was a big selling point, and it looked good enough in the pictures. This lamp isn't very well made. The connection between the base and the arm is very loose (wobbles side-to-side, back and forth, and rotates with barely any force at all. Also, the switch (built into the back of the head) is very flimsy and doesn't fit on the head straight.
I'm keeping it, but only because I need a lamp that I can use and don't want to spend over $100 on one--but I'm not happy.

I've tried different types of lamps for my pc desk without much luck. I couldn't get a lamp that gave me the right lighting for my keyboard without getting in my eyes. The switch on the lamp broke after only minor use in 2 months of ownership.. It had only a 18 watt flourescent bulb, so heat was not the issue. I would expect that a lamp that normally could be purchased at half the price at a home center would have been a better quality. Are you feeling lucky ? ... if so buy it.. but beware it might break easily with minor use.
Its now worthless after only 2 months. Lets hope Amazon will stand up for their customers for this shoddy lamp and give me return credit.
