I didn't know what to expect when I bought this lamp because I did so on a whim, but I am SO GLAD THAT I DID!!!

First I tried the lamp with a normal white-colored energy efficient bulb and it was nice, but not quite right. I wanted to achieve a WOW FACTOR and was determined to figure out how! So I tried a red-colored energy efficient bulb and that was neat, but too harsh and too bright. The one thing that this lamp lacks is a DIMMER feature/switch. This was my AH-HA moment!

I attached this dimmer Lutron TT-300NLH-BL Credenza Lamp Dimmer Black to my Lava Lite 3103 Architect's Notebook Lamp and this time inserted a BLUE-COLORED energy efficient bulb. EUREKA! I found the solution I was after and receive constant inquiries from the people who see it proudly displayed in my home! They want to know where I got it, how much it was, yadda yadda yadda and it makes me very happy to tell them just what I did to achieve this result!

I purchased two of the Lava Lite 3103 Architect's Notebook Lamps, one for each nightstand, and they complimented our black and white bedroom scheme rather sharply and elegantly. The lamp is as described and is very well made. The base is a sleek satin chrome finish; the shade is a frosted globe. The only problem with the globe is that it sits loosely on a chrome frame, therefore, its not stable and can fall off if something bumps into it. It takes a 25-40 watt light-bulb, there is no dimmer switch, its a simple ON or OFF setting. The lamp was packaged properly and shipped very quickly. I am pleased with this product and would recommend this lamp to anyone!

This lamp only takes a 40 watt bulb, but for what I wanted that is great. It has a nice diffused light that just light up the area nicely. Not to bright, but more than enough to get around the room without turning on any harsh overhead lights.
