The clamp worked just as I was hoping. The ability to change the angle is interesting but, because the lamp is adjustable, we probably won't use the clamp adjustment.
The best part of the clamp is its construction. All metal. Nice and solid. Won't have have to worry about the clamp cracking or breaking like our last (plastic) clamp did.

Fixes a weak link in otherwise fine drafting lamps. I've never understood why good lamps came with brittle, cheap plastic mounts. This mount is bombproof.

I love swing-arm lamps but inevitably the clamp snaps and breaks long before the lamp does. This is a good, sturdy, serviceable clamp that saves me the trouble of having to buy a whole new lamp. I wish they would make it in more colors and increase the padding that attaches to the part top of the desk or table. This product could still use some tweaking to make it more attractive and functional, useful as it is.

Bought this to replace the worthless plastic clamp on an Alvin G2540. Fits fine and works great. I suspect most Alvin swing arm lamps use the same 1/2 inch stem that will fit this clamp. This is the solution to wonky Alvin plastic clamps.
