Compared to other models I looked at in the same price range, I think this one is the best. It appears to be made of all metal (vs having plastic components). It looks attractive and appears to be well made. Only room for improvement slightly sturdier/larger base to prevent possible tipping (based on how you position the arm, the lamp could possibly tip over). ALso, the lamphead, even though it's made of metal (so it shouldn't melt), gets pretty hot with a standard 60 watt bulb. Otherwise, this product is excellent and much better than the plastic version of this model. For the price, it's an excellent value. Bought a second after purchasing the first.

This lamp gives good bright light, however it will not move forward and down like my old one did. I really need it to move forward and down more as I use it to light my work space and I need all the light I can get.

The Satin Nickel finish on this lamp looks great. The hinges on the arm are very good quality and holds the directional light solidly in place. I even use an LED bulb in the lamp which is on the heavy side, and the lamp supports it easily. The bottom part of the arm has limited adjustability probably to keep it from tipping, but I don't feel this restricts how I want to use it. The base is adequately weighted without feeling like an iron disc. The 26-inch height works perfectly on my desk. Not too small and not enormous. I can easily recommend this lamp.

It a nice, full metal brushed satin nickel lamp with a heavy base. When I first opened the box, I was delighted, but after putting in a bulb and adjusting the arm, I was very disappointed. You cannot fold the arm down flat to the base. You cannot extend the arm so that it is fully vertical either. You cannot rotate the arm around the base in a full 360 degree turn. I expected it to function like a true drafting arm lamp. I'm keeping it, but was very disappointed in it's function.
