The lamp is well-designed and easy to install. I am very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone wanting a table-mounted lamp.Best Deals for Globe Electric 5206101 Swing Arm Clip Lamp, Black
This fastened to my desk with ease and looks rather nice. However, the one complaint I have is that the head of it does not stay at the angle you adjust it to. It always sinks down, making it a hassle sometimes to direct light where you want it.Honest reviews on Globe Electric 5206101 Swing Arm Clip Lamp, Black
This just will stay up on it's own. I had intended to secure it above my bed and swing it over when I was reading. Well, it's fallen whenever I tried to adjust it and it is not safe to have around. It's now in my closet until I can find a way to use it.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Globe Electric 5206101 Swing Arm Clip Lamp, Black
Here is your classic inexpensive mass-produced Chinese drafting lamp. As with all of them, the more you move them around, the quicker some flimsy part will fail. But as a set and forget fixture, it will last forever. If you do move it around a lot, then you need to (1) keep checking the base mounting clamp to make sure that it is solidly anchored and not incrementally migrating to the wobble and fall off position; (2) keep the hand nuts on the arm and end tight; and (3) hit the standard nuts with a touch of Loctite Blue to keep them from spontaneously falling off. Heck, I hit the screw clamp and every other threaded fastener on it with Loctite Blue. For bulbs, I wouldn't push her past 60W if you like to keep things like lamp shades in the safely cool zone. But hey, if you are REALLY serious about your drafting / swing-arm lamps, get this: Alvin CL1755-B Swing-Arm Combination Lamp in white or black. It's a dual incandescent-florescent rig that is delightfully over-engineered in every way. Long after we're all taken out by the neutron bomb dropped on the US by a rogue Monte Carlo, this lamp will be there to provide service during the post-war zombie apocalypse.
