I puchased this lamp with the intent of using only the shade for a vintage figural lamp with a man and woman standing by a tree trunk. The shade is perfect for that lamp, but is also perfect for the base that came with it--a tree trunk. I have decided on using the lamp as it came, because it is perfect and is quite stunning. It is a great value and well made. I hope to buy other Chloe Lighting lamps in the future, especially another one of these--a great value.

This lamp is a good size for my end table, and really sturdy. I can't tell if it's made of glass or some kind of super plastic composite, but it shines like a freakin' piece of magic in my living room. I keep it really dark in my living room, with lots of dark browns and burgundies, and this lamp is right next to my leather sofa, but it's not so overpowering as to be a main light source. In fact, it's even kind of difficult to read by it unless you turn the book closer to the underside of the lamp shade. But I like it for the light and the ambiance it creates, and it doesn't eat up light bulbs like my other imitation Tiffany floor lamp. Really cool bargain buy lamp if you just like the way things look and act and don't care about the name engraved underneath it.
