These were the exact lamps I needed to replace a bad one in our environmental chamber here in my lab.

I took a risk and purchased these bulbs, though there were only 2 customer reviews. However, the reviews on the other Anyray products on Amazon were positive. I needed at least 3 bulbs and 5 bulbs for $13.99 seemed like a bargain -but the price is low for a reason (in my opinion).

First, the metal leads/pins on the bulbs are very flimsy, especially for halogen bulbs that typically need to be pushed into the light socket of any lamp. It does not take much force to bend the pins out of place. I also felt that the pins were ready to snap after trying to bend them back to the proper place (i.e. 8.6mm from one another).

Second, quality control between bulbs is not very good. Out of the five bulbs I received, two of them came with pins that were too thick and would not fit into my lamp socket. Two useless bulbs out of five bulbs -40% of the package that was of no use to me. If I did not need the bulbs right away, I would have returned all of them. I simply had to throw out the two bulbs that would not fit. It would be one thing if only one of the bulbs were unusable, but almost half of the box was unusable.

Given the above issues, the brightness and color of the halogen lamps is as expected. I cannot speak into the life of the lamp, as I put them in two days ago with much frustration. When they go out, I can provide an updated review commenting on the bulb life.

I recommend looking to purchase GY8.6 type halogen bulbs from a different manufacturer, even if it means paying a little more. The quality of the materials is low and the quality standards are low, in my opinion.
