The lamp is on my desk and has earned compliments from guests walking past the study. The switch is easily accessible and I use a CFL bulb which doesn't create a big heat build-up. I did have to adjust it to almost a straight down position as the glare from the inner surface of the shade was a bit bothersome for my liking. It has a nice solid look to it. The adjustment feature does give this lamp more versatility, making it useful in many ways.

It was much bigger and taller than I had expected. It looks a bit chunky, not elegant. I have hidden it behind some folders and now it looks ok.would look good on a big desk in abig room

I imagine that under studio lighting the bronze sheen might come through. Except I don't have studio lighting and the lamp looks like it is solid black. Different from what is pictured different from what I expected.

The white interior of the shade also makes the whole lamp look a little cheap. I plan to return and keep shopping.

On the plus side, the shape is attractive, the lamp is not tippy, and the on-off toggle switch is on the base at the front of the lamp, aka, a convenient location.

This lamp didn't last but a few months. It looks nice and I was happy with the appearance, but now that it doesn't work at all, I'm faced with purchasing a new lamp again. Very unhappy with short life given price of this item. I will not buy this brand again. Very disappointing.
