I bought this lamp from Costco several months ago, but eventually had to return it due to intermittant lighting problem.
Pros:
Very bright light with excellent color temperature, excellent for reading
Very modern, clean styling
LED lighting element is a thin, flat screen-like device with no visible bulbs
Good, solid material used in construction
Cons:
Intermittant lighting, sometimes had to twist the neck of the light to get it to work as if there is a bad connection somewhere
Touch switch is too "touchy"
I was initially very pleased with the lamp, mainly because Sylvania seemed to have nailed the color temperature (very pleasant "pure" white, neither too yellow nor too blue). However, their choice of touch switch is fraught with problems: it works intermittantly and will not function well if you plug it into a switched wall outlet. For example, I plugged it into an outlet in the bedroom which is controlled by a switch near the bedroom door. First, you have to turn the switch to the on position then go to the lamp and use the its touch switch to actually turn on the light. I am sure this is due to the touch switch being electronic rather than mechanical. The lamp would have been perfect if Sylvania had designed it with a mechanical switch. It may not be as "cool" as a touch switch but certainly will be simpler and more reliable.

Got it for my home office desk, saw it before in a store and when I went to buy it it was gone. Very handy, three levels of light and very we'll finished.Best Deals for Sylvania 72229 Monavi LED Task Lamp, Black Finish
I purchased this lamp from Costco. I loved the ability to maneuver the light right onto where I was looking, and the ability set the light level. Unfortunately, less than 2 months into owning it, the LED ::piffed:: and died. I have found nowhere to purchase a replacement, and have no idea how to replace it if I found a new LED.Bad move, Ostram Slyvania. Bad move.
