It's tough picking a good desk lamp, so here's what happened. I liked the photo of this lamp, as it's base looked stable and the design functional. So I ordered it for my friend, a paralegal working in San Francisco. When she opened the box, she was disappointed because it didn't look like it was worth $82. She called an associate over and asked, "How much do you think this lamp cost?" "About $25," was the answer. So she returned it.
