I was tired of tapping my hardwired under-cabinet lights with wet or messy hands while cooking, baking, or preparing any kind of food over my counters. Even more annoying the under cabinet lights built with my kitchen have three settings. The first tap is very dim I cant see anything so I have to tap the lights again for the bright setting, but if I accidentally tapped to fast they lights would go to off (setting #3). They were nice at first but the appeal quickly wore off because I was unhappy with the functionality. Plus I think they are halogen, not LED.
The options in the wireless under cabinet lighting arena are fairly limited. Most of the lights you have to tap, click, or wave your hands right under the light to again be disappointed with the light output. I tried a few including the hockey puck Dragon Light by Sylvania, They weren't for me so they were returned to Stop and Shop.
I have a few Mr Beams lights for the backyard so naturally I was curious as to how these would perform, WOW. I can see and I have light exactly when I need it without having to touch anything, make a mess, or shake hands with the invisible man under my cabinets. When you approach the counter or even the middle of your kitchen the lights will turn on after sensing your motion. I can walk up to the sink to wash my hands or do the dishes and I don't have to turn any lights on. I can use the cutting board and have enough light to prepare food. These lights are small but they pack a serious punch in the light department.
The other part I thoroughly enjoy are their sleek look. I had visitors over last night and they asked "Where did you get those!?!" extra cool points for me. They have a nice wow factor.
I could see how these might also be useful in workshops, laundry rooms, in the pantry, under a desk, in drawers....the list could go on and on they are very thin and can fit nearly anywhere.
Amazon has a picture of one light next to and iphone, the length is almost identical to an iphone. I would say the height is about the size of one iphone on top of another, so pretty thin. They don't look bulky or anything. That should give you roughly an idea of the look before you buy.
There are two different ways you can mount these, I chose the double sided tape. The tape is very strong I can practically hang from the ceiling myself with it. They aren't going anywhere.
Overall I give this one an A+. You wont be disappointed!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program What a good idea. These lights work on batteries 4 AA each. They can be mounted with screws (included) or double sided tape (also included). You can set them for a short time on by an internal switch and also by placing the sensor in front or back how sensitive it is for motion. They are easy to install, with the exception of sliding the cover off and on, but it gets easier, each time it is done. The obvious place to use them is under kitchen cabinets for more light. We have used one for a dark corner where the coffee maker is a great help early in the morning; but there are so many other possibilities under a bathroom cabinet over a sink might be one and then the place we used ours. We have a media cabinet where I literally have put a flashlight in order to see what the settings for recording programs and working with the various gizmos down there are. Well with this under the shelf... voila as soon as my hands go under to put in a DVD or try to set recording time there is light wonderful!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Originally I gave this item 4 stars, but both lights have stopped working after a few weeks. It will start saying on for a long time, when it is supposed to only stay on about 20 or 30 seconds. And when it does go off, it will stay off for 2 or 3 seconds then come back on again for another long time. The result is that it is on most of the time and will use up your batteries.
P.S. Even the replacement products that were sent to me quit working. I DO NOT recommend this product. You will be sorry if you spend money on this product.
Honest reviews on Mr. Beams MB862 Indoor Wireless Slim LED Light with Motion Sensor
I put one on under each cabinet on the sides of he sink area. Those areas were shaded from the light over the sink, and if you were standing there working beside the sink, your body shaded the light from the kitchen lights. Now even in the dark, when I approach the sink, two nice lights come on and flood the counter tops. I just ordered 2 more for the shop and humm,,,.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Mr. Beams MB862 Indoor Wireless Slim LED Light with Motion Sensor
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Contrary to the many popular reviews I found this product to be seriously lacking in the quality control department. I used these lights under kitchen cabinets to illuminate two dark areas in the kitchen. The installation is very quick and the double sided tape that can be used (rather than the screws that are provided) was the ONLY redeemable quality. The tape is extremely sticky and will securely hold this product in place so be sure of your placement once you're ready to install because you'll probably NOT be able to switch placement once it's in place. The down side (and there were many) when the product was initially installed, I noticed that each of the lights would illuminate for differing times. There is a switch to have the lights illuminate for 20 seconds (minimum setting) or 60 seconds (maximum setting). I switched both of mine to the max setting and neither would illuminate for 60 seconds when it would sense motion. It always illuminated for far less than 60 seconds therefore I'd be working on the countertop and the lights were constantly flickering on and off at differing intervals. My lights were placed about 3 feet apart so I thought that when I'm centered between the lights doing kitchen prep work, they'd be sensing equal amounts of motion and stay on. Unfortunately, this didn't happen. I also noticed that one unit seemed to be much more sensitive than the other. Later (and I'm talking about 1-week), the unit that was LESS sensitive wouldn't turn off and it completely drained the batteries in very short order. Each light requires 4 AA batteries which gets rather expensive to operate if the batteries need changed once a week (I was using Duracell Copper top batteries). According to the directions, the batteries will last around 40-hours therefore when a unit doesn't shut off it won't take long for the batteries to drain. Furthermore, when the batteries are being depleted, the light that is being emitted gets dimmer and dimmer so you eventually end up with a gray beam of light.
I thought this was a great concept and was excited to give the product a whirl however after replacing the batteries in both units in less than 10-days, I've decided to relocate these lights to the garage area with instructions for my husband to use them ONLY with rechargeable batteries. Regardless of where you use these lights rechargeable batteries are highly encouraged.
This product simply was not what I was looking for in my kitchen so I'm back to looking for wired under cabinet lighting.
