I purchased this lamp so that I can basically point at the keyboard to use my computer while I have my office lights off. I found that I can concentrate better on the tasks at hand.
Pros:
1Very flexible, the lamp arm is retractable, can be shorter or longer.
2The lamp head itself can point left, right, up or down.
3There is a little metal stick for the user to handle the lamp and moves it around.
4Clock is quiet, not silent, but quiet and very clear.
5Looks cool.
Cons:
1Head gets very hot, since it is Halogen lamp.
2Large power supply that also gets hot.
3Uses more power than the newer technology like LED or CFL, on the other hand I like the light from this better than the bluish LED light.
4The base is kind of light, I might put some Velcro on the bottom to make it stay when I handle the head.
