I work in the live events industry, and so spend a lot of time in a dark backstage area. I need small lights that travel well and aren't too bulky so that I can see my scripts and what not. This light is super tiny when rolled up, but extends enough to focus it well where you need it. It gives off a soft white light that's pleasing to the eye and isn't too dim or too bright, and best of all the head isn't too heavy so it doesn't need a huge amount of support to keep the goose neck upright. It's weird that whoever's selling it is just reselling IKEA stuff, but I love it cause I don't have Amazon on Prime with IKEA, but I do here!

I bought it from B&M Ikea for $5.99. Works great, is flexible yet does not lose its position. I will go buy a few more.

I actually bought this after first purchasing its cousin which has a base. I was impressed with the excellent illumination it provides without creating a lot of heat like my old desk lamp with a halogen bulb used to do. So I bought this lamp without the base for a desktop computer which needed focused light on the keyboard. It's great value. Who knew that Amazon would sell Ikea products. I am very glad they do.
