I bought two strands of the these lights thinking they would twinkle & change color as the "Color Changing" in the name would suggest. The two modes are not "steady on & twinkling" as in the description. They are all lights flashing brightly & then all lights flashing dimly. The lights are at the same power at all times; there is no variation up or down the strand that would imply twinkling. They also never change color. On the plus side, the balls do not easily come off and provide an interesting shape while diffusing the light. That and their length are why I did not return these items.

I think I got a defective strand of lights and it died about an hour after putting the batteries infor the hour they were on these lights were the brightest and most bad-ass ones at the music festivalat least they looked that way to me ;)

less than a week after I rec'd, half the lights stopped working. rec'd another strand & even before I hung them, I plugged them in & only 1/2 the lights worked.

I didn't know what to expect ordering these. They are bright and were plenty of light for our camp site. Would recommend!
