This brushed nickel lamp is a hefty almost 3 pounds. I like the look for my industrial look desk. It is a good desk height lampjust over 2'.
The company's photo that is on the Amazon site does not represent the more shiny actual brushed nickelwhich I much prefer to the picture.
I like the lamp shade, it looks like shantung silk... until you turn on the 60 watt bulb. I switched it out and used a 25 watt bulb which is much more attractive. Unfortunately the shade arrived cracked. They have a 1-800 number that I will be calling sometime Mon. through Fri., 9 AM. -5PM EST I called them and they were very polite, very helpful and will be sending me a replacement with turn around time of less than a day! I am very impressed with their customer service.
The price is very good for a sturdy attractive lamp that comes with a shade.
(So sorry about that sideways video I could not get my computer to rotate it)

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I love this lamp. It's pretty AND it's functional, and like other reviewers have stated, it's much prettier in person. It has a small footprint ~ less 6" in diameter, so it doesn't take up a lot of space, which is great because I'm using it on my worktable where I need to spread out my art supplies. It's very sturdy, and I can use the bottom to display a few small items (the circle base).I like that it's tall 27" and has a very pretty (and slim) shade. The design is interesting but also simple, and the brushed nickel is very pretty, but not terribly shiny / distracting. The lamp is packed well with the minimal amount of cardboard needed. Also, it does not need a special bulb a regular 60w works just fine.
On another note, there was a slight problem with the first lamp I received. I contacted the company, who provided outstanding customer service and got it fixed.
Recommended.

I put it on my sons night stand and it fits perfectly on there and goes perfectly with his modern decor. The lamp shade has a cool effect on the bottom of it, almost like a black tie die effect to it. It's really cool. The base of the lamp is well made and sturdy and is brushed nickel with a modern design. I just love it!! Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program My dictionary defines the word "eclectic" as a mixture of various styles. That's a fair description of the South Beach table lamp, both in appearance and functionality. At almost 27 inches high, it's tall enough for a living room end table, and with a base only 6 inches in diameter, it will fit nicely on a crowded nightstand. And it would look good in either location, with its unusual but attractive silvery brushed metal appearance. The lampshade is a slightly off-white fabric that diffuses the light very nicely. I used a regular 60-watt light bulb (not included), but since the lampshade is supported on its own frame and doesn't sit on the bulb, I also tried a 29-watt CFL bulb, which worked fine.The lamp on/off switch is on the bulb holder, about 18 inches above the surface that the lamp rests on. There's no problem with that, although if the lamp was used on a bedside nightstand, a rocker switch or pressure switch in the base might be a bit more convenient.
The only assembly required was to insert the metal lampshade support into two grooves in the light bulb receptacle unit, then drop the lampshade onto a screw on the top of the support, tighten a round nut, and that was it about thirty seconds. Having assembled lamps that almost required an electrician to thread wires through tiny openings, I appreciated this.
I really like this lamp. It's attractive, it's versatile enough to use almost anywhere a lamp is needed, and the size and shape make it portable enough to move around the house very easily.
