This torchiere floor lamp is a good buy for the price. Although I would have prefered a halogen powered lamb with a dimmer switch. This is a suitable alternative that provide sufficient lighting with two 75 watt bulbs or you can go higher with 100 watt bulbs. The attached reading lamp is handy if want a little less lighting in the room with it's 60 watt bulb. I only wish that the main lamb and reading lamp had separate switches instead there is a single 4 phase switch (off-reading-main-both). The design is stylish although the top shade barely covers the light bulbs. Overall it's was a good purchase.

I've had mine for many years and now buying a second.
Doesn't take up much space, but lights up the room nicely and warmly without creating a blinding glare. The gooseneck lamp is very handy when I just want a focused light for reading. You can turn on the top light and goosneck lamp separately or both on at the same time.

I needed to brighten up a corner of my wife's craft room and this did a good job. The secondary bulb does a good job of lighting her work area as well. She gets nervous about the heat generated by halogens and this was a great compromise. Would definitely buy again

Read reviews on this lamp before buying it. One repeated comment was that it did not stand up straight. I found this to be true but just put a piece of carpet under one side and it is straight. It gives off great light and I like the small lamp for reading. It looks good in the room. The first one I got did not work and I had no problem with amazon replacing it. I looked at a lot of lamps before chosing this one and I am happy with this purchase.
