I'm replacing standard incandescent lights in my house with halogen bulbs. We have a lot of dimmers, and I don't really care how much I'm spending on electricity for lights. The additional lumens are just what we need.

I've used this style of halogen bulb in my outdoor lights, of which I have 5, for eight years now. I had 95W which is fine, but now I can't find them anywhere. This bulb lasts a long time, makes a great light and all of my outdoor lights have dimmer switches on them, so I leave them on all night a lot.

I had one of these previously in my hallway. The light is a bright wonderful pure white light.

The bulb lasted for well over 4 years with normal usage.

When it did burn out it was very difficult to find a replacement due to the government making changes to the bulbs that are allowed to be manufactured.

However I did find this one at a higher price then they used to sell for.

So you can imagine my great disappointment when this bulb burned out after only a month of usage!!

These bulbs give off great light for reading and give the room a clean white glow instead of a diluted yellow glow you get with the newer energy efficient bulbs. Appreciate the energy efficiency but I really need to be able to see what I'm reading and where I'm walking.
