I ordered this adapter on Friday night and it arrived Monday. Great!. Unfortunately, as some other customer mention, the hole is too small for some lamps, particularly the ones they sell at IKEA now, that need a 1 and 5/8" inner diameter. Fortunately I have a friend with a lathe and he increased the clearance to fit the socket of the lamp.:) Now it works perfectly!

For people who want to purchase this product, be careful. We purchased these awhile ago and it wouldn't fit on european lamps. The measurements are not indicated and when we got them, we realized that they were, what we called in the business, NewBridge fitters, not Euro. It's like saying about the color grey that it's white. It's not fun to have to return a product we paid shipping for at our own expense because they don't fit.

There's a world of difference between the European lamp system and the NewBridge system. So for future buyers, be aware that you might not get what you need by purchasing this product.

The good thing though is that they were beautifully made, except for a few that were bent but nothing we couldn't fix.

I ordered this to fit the Payton floor lamp base from Pottery Barn Kids. I had bought a lampshade from PBTeen for my daughter's nursery and it needed a harp but I didn't realize the base was an UNO style when I ordered it. Thankfully I found this gadget on Amazon and it saved the day! I was going to be really upset to return a lampshade via mail. Thankfully this worked perfectly paired with a harp from Bed Bath and now the lamp stands beautiful in the nursery, lamp shade and all.

I initially ordered the wrong size of this product and Upgradelights was very understanding and helpful. I just mailed back the adapters that were too small and they mailed me back the larger ones. It was a very easy transaction.

Had a UNO (european) shade attachment. Lighting stores wanted big bucks to redo the lamp to accept a harp shade attachment.

Investigated and found this at a faction of the cost. If you have a Restoration hardware, Ikea, or other european style shade attachment and want to replace the shade you'll need one of these. MEASURE SOCKET CAREFULLY!!!

Forget replacement uno shades in US they don't exist.
